#tdmpickup is an IRC channel where a bot automatically organizes matches and decides teams. Players simply need to join the channel, type the !a command, and they will be queued for the next match. As soon as 8 players have queued, the bot decides the teams, the match starts, and the queue is reset for the next 8 players.

You don't need to install an IRC software client if you don't want to. Thanks to IRC Webchat which opens IRC directly in a browser tab, #tdmpickup is quite literally two clicks away:

Please remember to use an IRC nick similar to your in-game nick to avoid confusion.

If it's your first time playing in #tdmpickup, you will need to tell the bot what your Steam ID is so it can track your match history properly. Make sure you are using the desired IRC nick and then type the following command:

!steamid <steamid>

Your Steam ID is the ~17 digit folder that can be found in C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Quake Live/ by default, and looks something like 76543210987654321. You can also use http://steamidfinder.com/.

The obvious reason for hosting Clan Arena pickups in #tdmpickup is that one bot in one channel is a lot easier to maintain and administrate than two bots in two channels, but in addition to this we think that this is a great opportunity for both TDM pickups and CA pickups to gain new players. If a TDM pickup needs 2 more players to add, then a couple of CA players might decide to try it out, and vice versa.

Remember that most commands are for TDM by default, so you will need to add the "ca" suffix where necessary (!a ca, !rating ca player, !w ca, etc...).

Of course, if this initiative fails horribly and nobody plays CA, it will eventually be removed from #tdmpickup. As with everything in QL, we depend entirely on the community (that's you!).

This project began when I was contacted by mouse* asking if I would mind using his demos to create a movie. It didn't take long for me to accept his offer after I watched through his amazing democollection he sent me. As I by the time had a lot of spacectf demos collected myself, I proposed the idea of a combined movie surrounding in a sky/space-ish atmospehere. The result came out as good as we both imagined it.

While it took a lot of time for me to finally release the final piece, most of the work was done with the preperation of the scenes themself. Every skyward sequence in SPACEWARD have smooth moving clouds floating above the map. This effect could only (by my poor editing experiences) be rightfully made with rendering every scene twice, one with the floating clouds, and a second with a normal skyboxtexture halfly covered in greenscreen. A lot of effort was put into this, but it was all worth it in the end.

Big thanks to mouse* for giving me this pleasure to put my creativity in motion with his resources and help, and a shoutout to all my homeboys in space o/

Originally this movie was meant to be my last fragged by mouse* part since I'm only a filthy casual these days and I stopped collecting demos. My crappy notebook at that time was not strong enough to edit and render videos so I decided to outsource the project. I contacted several movie makers and knowing his editing skills I decided for creep. In fact, he offered to throw in his collected space demos and create a 2-map project. Knowing creep΄s unreal skill as a player I said yes immediately of course. Many months later here we are and I am stunned by its quality and content.

Although I did not take part in any of the editing, creep constantly asked me for my opinion, proposed songs and sent me sample scenes so that I can honestly say I was very much involved in the project and contributed to its development.

All my heart and thanks goes out to my buddy creep who made this project possible with his superb frags and masterful editing. I hope many of you will enjoy it as much as I do.

Demo data access in the viewer was done through a new public API in the UDT library. It allows developers to get full access to demo data without having to worry about many of the details that make parsing demos difficult. More info here. There are 2 small self-contained C++ applications in the repository that show off how to use it.

The choice of the engine client it is up to you.

Quakespasm, DirectQ, Dark Places or even a QuakeWorld client like ezQuake will probably do it.

I prefer Quakespasm for Linux, Mac and Win 32/64.

There are few things new players should make sure to remember when applying for House of Quake:
1. All players should double check if their SteamID is entered for Quake Live.
2. Clan leaders, after creating clan, must create squad and add players from clan to that particular squad.

Failure to follow any of these instructions will result in your team not being able to join the cup.
