The final day of our Archaic.MSI Quakecon draft was nothing but exciting for our fans and spectators. With a favorite in the competition Australia Timothy "Zealor" Shey unexpectedly going down in three maps flawlessly to Australia Dan "Dandaking" De Sousa. On the other side of the semi finals Australia Peter "Ventz" Kiddson making a three map comeback to a starting two map deficit to the aspiring teenager Australia David "Zenaku" Adatti.

VOD up soon

The Finals were brought to our viewers live thanks to Quakelive.TV with United States of America DaHanG who helped with the shoutcasting and also the 4Seasons Gaming stream and holysh1t for providing us with backup video. All matches were best of five single elimination and ofcourse the winner is sponsored to attend Quakecon later in August thanks to ArchaicMSI.

OCEANIC QUAKECON DRAFT GROUPS ANNOUNCED (14 comments)
Posted by M05 @ 01:00 CDT, 17 June 2010 - iMsg
Finally the wait is over, the last two invites for the ArchaicMSI Quakecon Draft have been won by Australia Matthew "xcope" Leeroy and Australia Pablo "Pablo" Godinez

The tournament has been all the talk for the Oceanic community for the past 4 weeks and everybody is excited to see the final 12 players one of which will be representing us overseas at Quakecon 2010. Unfortunately Australia Andrew "Python" Chacha is not as interested as he once was to compete international and has nobly stepped aside for a new player to be birthed from this tournament.

We still wait hopeful the Australian servers will get back online in time despite promises of a 48 hour fix. Who knows what the future will hold for our Western and Southern players in the competition, unfortunately the show must go on...

Posted by M05 @ 07:12 CDT, 14 June 2010 - iMsg
Congratulations to Shannon "zpnq" Hall on winning the final Qcon Qualifier (VODs). Fortunate for Guy "HANZ" Hampton on losing to every single player that went on to win a qualifying spot in the tournament, has been rewarded with his own as an Invite. He joins Matthew "Haymo" Hayman who also received an invite for his decent recent performance in the CyberGamer ACER LAN tournament.

It all plays down to one final spot in which a competition will be held on this Wednesday for a select few players We are also still looking forward to hopefully seeing our missing servers back online soon

AUS QCON COMP TO BE CANCELLED? THANKS ID (190 comments)
Posted by M05 @ 08:55 CDT, 8 June 2010 - iMsg
For the past two weeks the Oceanic servers have been reduced from 4 locational hosts, to the now barely playable 1. This majorly affected our recent LAN competition on the weekend and will mean no Quakecon tournament for our Oceanic players if they are not put back up in time.

We have contacted our local server providers some of which said they were upgrading their servers (a week and a bit ago), but have contacted id Software a few times now to tell them the servers are ready to go back up. id Software's SyncError has attempted to be contacted via IRC on a few occasions and we do understand he is a very busy person and obviously under a lot of scrutiny due to the mass amounts of people trying to contact him and the lack of responses he's been able to give.

In all respect I would like to give the guy a break but this is too important for an entire continent to run a competition to send a player to their own American LAN tournament is becoming somewhat of a joke.

Important or not all Oceania and 4Seasons Gaming have done is promote the game as best we can, and as much as we may sound like whiners some of you hopefully agree we do not deserve for this kind of problems to be ignored.

Oceania Quakecon Qualifier + Invite (10 comments)
Posted by M05 @ 01:08 CDT, 23 May 2010 - iMsg
Scheduled: 04:30 CDT, 23 May 2010 to 08:00 CDT, 23 May 2010
Schedule: Passed

It pleases us to announce our very first invited player into the ArchaicMSI Quakecon Draft is New Zealand Nick "nomey" Burfield. Nomey was selected for his consistent top-end finishes every 4Seasons Gaming tournament. His dedication and persistence has built himself a very strong willed reputation in Oceanic scene and this is reflected in his constant good results and positive attitude.

The qualifier today will decide who the 6th player to join the competition will be. Spectators can follow along with the brackets and stream below. If you haven't seen yet player interviews will be surfacing in the coming weeks, which will capture how much this tournament means from our players perspectives. First out was Australia Ventz.

Dan to attend QCON as daking for AUS/NZ? (17 comments)
Posted by M05 @ 05:04 CDT, 16 May 2010 - iMsg
Australia Daniel "dandaking" De sousa has taken out the May 16th ArchaicMSI Qualifier in true champion style, flawlessly. This was Dan's first competition for Quake Live and unfortunately due to the nature of 'qualifying' he was unable to participate against his rival Oceanic competition Zealor, Ventz or Zenaku. Dan will accompany Australia and New Zealands best in the ArchaicMSI Draft Tournament for a chance to win a trip to Quakecon 2010 in August.

cup_gold 1st. Australia Daniel "dandaking" De sousa
cup_silver 2nd. New Zealand Nick "nomey" Burfield
3rd/4th. Australia John Winston "Pathe" Hoddinott / Australia Guy "HANZ" Hampton

Big thanks to Wookie and Reloaded LAN who have donated prizes towards the ArchaicMSI Draft runner up and ArchaicMSI Draft third place finalists, as well as our next divisional duel comp and a bit of cash towards our next overseas trip.

Oceania to attend QuakeCon 2010 (55 comments)
Posted by M05 @ 09:42 CDT, 4 May 2010 - iMsg
Thanks to 4Seasons Gaming and ArchaicMSI, Oceania will be sending it's first sponsored QuakeLive player overseas to QuakeCon this year in August. Instead of just choosing a player to send over, we have turned the opportunity into a "draft" or "qualifier" to determine once and for all who is the real 2010 Oceanic QuakeLive Dueling Champion.

The tournament will be open to everybody living in Australia Australia or New Zealand New Zealand but there will be only twelve final positions in the competition. Some of the 12 will be hand picked "wildcard" entries by 4Seasons Gaming staff, while the remaining positions will be decided through competitions in the coming weeks.

On behalf of the entire 4Seasons Gaming community we would like to thank ArchaicMSI for firstly making this possible, but also our sponsors and community donaters for getting us to where we are!
