4K^Hypno: Hello there, my name is Gaspar Machado, I'm currently 20 years, I'm from Portugal and Im currently studying in university in this course called, Communication and Multimedia. Gaming related I'm playing for 4Kings at the moment and before that k1ck and dignitas. Now I think the female users will agree that you're totally hawt and don't match the gamer stereotype. What activities do you do besides gaming?
Well I think my girlfriend thinks that I'm hot, but that's it ;) Well, I'm not doing really anything special at the moment, I just keep studying and playing UT3, besides having this issue that having a girlfriend living in Paris, anyway, with the money I won I have quite a lot to go there whenever I want :) Besides that I just really enjoy to go out with my friends and go to good psytrance parties :DNow onto the tournament. You lost in the Upper Bracket Finals in three maps but were able to pull yourself together for a whitewash in the finals. What did you feel went wrong for you in the upper bracket and how did you go about correcting this problem?
I was really nervous, and I never played kiLLu before, I lost 2-1 in overtime and to be honest I think I played much better and kiLLu was just lucky, I even told him this in the tournament, he had like 8hp every time and both maps I lost I got luckily combo'ed by him, I was really emotionally destroyed at the beginning but then I just thought I knew how could I improve against him and I did it, and actually managed to take 4 maps straight. Before the grand finals you and kiLLu agreed to break up the prize money with £5,000 going to the runner up...do you now regret this decision?
I don't, I played my match much more relaxed and I managed to play much better that way, kiLLu deserves to get money as well, he was a really good player in this tournament. How do you plan on spending your winnings? The Dird Trust is always in need of donations ;)
I really don't know, I think I'll just update my own things, I'm using a really old cellphone and a 512mb mp3, lol I know that's nothing but I'm actually going to buy an iPod and some decent cellphone! Anyway I don't think I'll save the money, I think I'm going to New York / Japan with my girlfriend soon and t hen after, I just dno, maybe a car or so :)Do you have a particularly strong interest in Japan? I have many Japanese dramas I could recommend you ;)
Well I really would like to go to Tokyo, I don't know, it just feels magical to me, even though I want to go even more to New York, Japan is more like.. the dream of my girlfriend, so I'm making it true soon I hope :)What are your views of the tournament as a whole? Positives/negatives?
It was a really highskilled tournament with surely the best players in the world, even though it was really really bad coverage wise, for example I had to record myself, and actually log in as admin the whole grand final demos which i think they will be up soon, coverage-wise I thought QuadV was going to be there, but the organization didn't seem interested at all, for example I wanted to give my parents url's and stuff so they could watch the game. How did you find the Wembley Stadium and your time in England in general?
It was awesome, even though I only stayed for 4 days, my girlfriend came straight away from France and I had only like few hours with her to enjoy the city, I really would like to go there again, I managed to see the place I really wanted to see in London, the piccadilly circus, since I was a child i saw pictures of it and I got amazed :D the wembley stadium was massive as well, really legendary thing :)You performed reasonably well in UT2004 but failed to achieve a title with as much prestige as this one (besides being my favourite player). Which game do you prefer and why?
UT3 for sure, honestly I never liked UT2004 1on1, it was really, really boring to play and even watch, I just played it for the competition and to travel around a bit, I remember ESWC was the last tournament I put some effort into and i got like 5th/6th, after winning against DevilMC I lost to CombatCarl, otherwise I would have been 4th. I think I was too confident and I just fucked it up, I was really immature anyway and that game didn't really fit me. UT3 tho, fits really my gamestyle, and when I played on LAN it just felt awesome. How do you find it for team modes?
I haven't played much TDM to be honest, but I think it's fun, I loved TDM back then in UT2004, and I think TDM can be even better on UT3.With there being no major upcoming UT3 tournaments besides i33 do you have any plans to attempt to play any other game at a professional level? Perhaps Quake 3 for ESWC...
Na, I'm not playing Quake 3 at all, I could try to have a free trip to San Francisco but I don't feel like going only to get a free trip, if I go to an international event I actually wanna do something decent, and I wouldn't do that in Quake 3 for sure.Have you played much Quake 3 and if yes, how do you think it compares with UT3 or the Unreal series as a whole?
Haven't played much Quake 3, I tried Quake 4 for a while when it came out I could actually qualify for Portugal but my feeling was the same, I didn't have a Quake background so I wasn't going to do anything decent at ESWC for sure. If there are no more competitions for UT3 after i33, I might stop playing competitively at all. I just think they are such different games, for different people and I really hate the ut-quake hating as a whole, you can't really compare. I'm an UT fan and I think I will stay like this forever.
