Introduce who you are in real life briefly.
My name is Bryan, I am 18 years old and live in a small town near Amsterdam, in September I will start studying music, but for now for work I deliver mail.

Describe your quake live career so far (when you started, what mods etc).
Somewhere in 2008 I went to a gaming convention in the Netherlands, there I saw forever playing 1v1 on a big screen. At that event there was also a stand where you could play q4 on lan with 4 guys, FFA. Later that year I bought the game myself and started playing a bit of FFA. Then i heard about QL and as it went into open beta i switched to that and started dueling. In the run I played some online cups like Zotac and Jeesports. Finally some months ago X1ks (now Arturr) asked me to play duel for dioxide.

What are your biggest achievements in quake so far and what goals do you have for the future?
well, I don't have any achievements as in winning tournaments, because I never won any, but I do have some personal achievements. In official matches I beat players like Amai, Stermy and Fazz. In practice games I've beaten some better players than that but I guess it doesn't really count (cause I know how I play in practice games...). For the future, I hope I can keep playing quake when my study starts, I will probably be playing less though, just for fun, perhaps playing some Zotac cup now and then if it keeps continuing to exist.

Are you considering attending any of the upcoming LAN events, such as UGC or Dreamhack?
Dreamhack Summer this year is a no, I've already looked into it, but I can't get free from work at this time. I don't know anything about the UGC dates yet, but it would be awesome to compete in a big LAN tournament along the great players. I will look into the possibilities as soon as the dates are known.

The Dutch community is one of the most active national communities. How do you think you rank in the dutch dueling scene? And who are the lesser known dutch players who you think have the most potential?
At the moment we don't have any top10 players I'd say, but sc00t has big potential to be one, for some reason he just fucks up at LAN. I have good hope he will take high place at the upcoming dreamhack though. We have some more talented players, for example Maximzr, gda, jo0f, _prayer and tantum, who all seem to to have been quickly progressing in skill the past year. They all have potential to be on top if they dedicate themselves. Myself, at the moment i'm #1 Netherlands on qlranks.com, but I'd say im top3 of all active dutch duelers for sure. It mostly depends on who has got the best form at the moment.

How would you describe your play style (similar to any pro players)? And what areas do you think you have to improve on?
Just now fire_bot told me my play style looks like rapha, and I sort of agree with it, of course I'm much worse than him, but I tend to depend on good decision making and tactics instead of aim. I'm like the worst aimer in the qlranks top200... even I have days where I'm on fire with my aim, but usually its so bad that I've trained myself not to depend on it. Oh and also one of my strongest things is timing and control.

You have improved quite a lot in a quite short period of time. What advice would you give to other players aspiring to do the same?
If you really want to improve as efficient as possible, set up a practice routine, consisting of a nice balance between playing, watching your own demos and watching demos of better players. If you don't like watching demos or spectating, just playing can also improve your game, but now and then think about your game, why do u keep losing to that one player, why do u keep dying in that situation? Don't just blame your aim for everything, find the tactical errors in your game. Also for me it helped to ask advice to better players. I'd just ask "Give me some tips to improve my game please". I still ask this sometimes. Usually they just tell me things I already suspected, but hearing it from a better player is just what some people need to improve.

Thank you for your time!
