It's been a long time since the last

Q3 Promode tournament with actual prize pool (as in 'more then 20 bucks') took place. Tears have been shed about the grim future of Promode, glorious fights that have been fought, great time we've had and so little hope we had left over the past few years.

The

#promode.ru community is organizing a worthy tournament with a prize pool to spice up the challenge and make things a bit more interesting. Most of people still involved in community donated so this is where it kicks in.

All players are welcome to participate. Older 1v1 veterans are encouraged to flex some muscles and get in. We hope

The

#ctfpickup team is inviting everybody for the today's special CTF day. Each game today is played in 5on5 format.

This has different reasons. First of all we'd like to see whether 5on5 is working for Quake Live or not. CTF has always been played 5on5 back in Quake 3 and we'd like to look back on that. Another reason is, that we'd like to bring a bit more variety to CTF. We may have a few more special events for the upcoming Sundays.

Cypher has taken two Fall Cups so far, will he make it three in a row? This Sunday at 08:00 CDT, the FACEIT Fall Season Sunday Cup #3 will take place, where you can see all your favorite players in action.

The FACEIT Fall Season will be played each Sunday for the coming month, where 128 players can join and play for $125, as well as points to qualify them for the Finale.

Commentary this week will be provided by our host,

Daniel "ddk" Kapadia. The stream will go live on FACEIT TV at 08:30 CDT.

I'm pleased to announce the 3rd edition of the Romanian Quake League LAN, event that will gather quakers from all over the country to play, compete and have fun with friends.

The LAN will take place in Discovery Arena Internet Cafe on the 26th of October 2013 in Bucharest. The tournament will have the same format as the previous editions and will consist in two cups: QL Duel and CA 2v2 (draft teams).

A newly remade "Tricking iT" (2003) performing Nihilanth and edited by Wussie.
The movie itself is edited in a simple way, with some decent drum and bass tracks in it, and a great picture quality, as expected by Shaolin Productions.

After the commotion caused earlier this week when we decided to replace one of the maps in the pool. We decided to do something about it; we let the currently invited players have a vote about what to do with the maplist.

The players had two options:

1. Keep the current maplist as it is (Cure, Sinister, Furious Heights, Lost World, Blood Run)
2. Add toxicity and one more map to the current maplist

The votes are in and the results show that option 2 won (rather convincing). The players also suggested which map to add to the pool and the votes show that the last map will be Aerowalk.

In order to celebrate the release of the ZOWIE EC eVo CL and the cooperation with Quake Legend

Anton ‘Cooller’ Singov, ZOWIE GEAR is launching an online Quake Live tournament with a 500$ prize pool.

Cooller, ZOWIE decided to invite

Sergey ‘evil’ Orekhov who recently placed 2nd in QuakeCon 2013 and

Alexey ‘Cypher’ Yanushevsky who is widely regarded as one of the best Quake players ever with medals across events such as ESWC, IEM and DreamHack.

These three players were invited for the grand finals to take place on October 26th and the final player will be found through one qualifier on October 19th which will be open for all European players to attend. The open qualifier will also offer a ZOWIE EC eVo CL as a prize for winning player. The sign-ups for the event are open at our website.

DHW: Toxicity out, Blood Run in (539 comments)

We've decided to change the current map pool for

DreamHack Winter 2013. Many of you have raised your voice asking for Toxicity to be removed and Blood Run to be added instead. After a lot of internal discussions and reasoning we've decided to change it because Blood Run is overall a better map and it's not as one sided as Toxicity can be.

New Maplist

We chose to remove Toxicity instead of one of the new maps (Cure or Sinister) because we think that Quake Live needs a couple of refreshing maps to give newer players a chance to catch up and bring new blood into the game.
