Hello and welcome to JeeSports!

We're looking to expand our admin/referee base for Quakelive.

Initially your role will consist in helping in the management of all upcoming Quakelive events we are planning to start.
Your mission will be to ensure that tournaments run smoothly and players/teams get a good level of support when needed.

As you can see, we have quite enough tournaments every week, and we planning to start more events very soon before DreamHack.
You will therefore have a broader involvement, input and impact on QL competitive scene growth.

I'm bad at writing news, so here is a nice copy/paste from the announcement on dreamhack.se.

Twitch.TV join ZOTAC and Plantronics to support Quake Live at DreamHack Winter 2011. DreamHack cancel Showmatch in Duel and replace it with a real 16-player duel tournament.

DreamHack is about listening to the community and after our announcement yesterday with a SEK 60 000 TDM-tournament and a SEK 20 000 Showmatch in Duel – we got alot of feedback that the community would love to have a real duel tournament on-site.

At the same time we got approached by our streaming partner Twitch.TV and they said they could support a Duel tournament with $5,000 in prize money. So we have decided to cancel the Showmatch with SEK 20 000 in Quake Live and replace with with a real Duel tournament with 16 players – in addition to our already existing TDM-tournament. This will give us a Duel tournament with SEK 55 000and a TDM-tournament with SEK 60 000 which is a total prize purse of SEK 115 000 in Quake Live only – one of the biggest total prize purses DreamHack have pulled off in this game.

DreamHack can together with the two sponsors ZOTAC and Plantronics finally present all the details of our Quake Live TDM tournament: DreamHack ZOTAC Championship. Last Summer DreamHack proudly hosted the first Quake Live TDM tournament in a very long time. With the great success and high quality of the tournament it was an easy choice to go with Quake Live TDM again for this DreamHack.

“Quake Live is the ballet of eSports, it’s an art and a sport, a experience that tickle all your senses. It feels great to have both Plantronics and ZOTAC in this project and support one of the most dedicated communities out there.” said Fredrik Nystrom, Press Officer at DreamHack.

“This year we’ll only host a TDM-tournament, but we’ll add some duel to it – at the new DreamArena in the ice hockey arena we’ll host one showmatch in duel with 20 000 SEK on the line. ESL Major Series Season IX leaving us with a new slot to fill! So it was just decided to run a Last chance cup for the losers of the QR2 (excepted those who got a noshow) on Sunday 23rd at 12:00 CST!

"Quake may be the most influential game of all time. Not the best game, not the most innovative, but the most influential. Without it, the industry would be a very different place today. It gave rise to many of aspects of modern gaming that we take for granted. Its developers, modders, and even the very code of the game itself are ubiquitous in the industry today. Id Software's 1996 FPS gave rise to 3D gaming, client/server online play, the most prolific mod scene in history, multiplayer clans, server browsers, eSports, mouse-look as the PC control standard, Valve and dozens of other companies, and even 1UP's sister website, GameSpy. Without Quake, it's unlikely another game that featured the same suite of innovations would have come along. We would have had to wait for each of those things one at a time."
