The seventeenth qualifier for the JeeSports Quakelive August 2011 Championship Series will be played Thursday 25th of August at 13:00 CDT. The check-in starts 30min before.

This is the last opportunity for players to qualify to Saturday's JeeSports Invitational! When the tournament closes, we will announce the 16 players who will be invited to compete for money from the 160€ prize pool. The invitational tournament will be streamed on HoQ TV.

Here is also a sneak peak at what the calendar will look like for September!

QLPrism is short for "Quake Live + Prism." This is a web application-style launcher for Quake Live. Rather than loading up your web browser, you can simply double click the QLPrism icon on your desktop to directly launch Quake Live. Most of you probably know that this package combines Quake Live and Mozilla (the creators of Firefox) Lab's Prism, which is an application that lets users split web applications out of their browser and run them directly on their desktop. Other than an actual single standalone .exe (i.e. QL Offline Client) this is probably the closest thing to QL "stand-alone."

The whole point of QLPrism is to provide you with a bundled QL + Prism package that is ready to go with a simple double click. This is a great alternative for those who have been recently having problems running Quake Live in other browsers, especially Google Chrome. This also allows manual URL input for QuakeLive URLs (for pickup games), and comes with a few useful Greasemonkey scripts such as wn's Alternative Server Browser pre-installed.

This Wednesday will see another ESL QL Summer Cup, but it won't be focused on team play! This cup will feature Duel over a Double Brackets with bo3 games in WB and bo1 in LB. Once again, the matches should start at 13:00 CDT. And if the cup is running too late, the finals could be delayed to another day.

The maps will be Aerowalk, Blood Run, Furious Heights, Hektik, Lost World, Toxicity, Vertical Vengeance. There will be only one division and the cup will be limited to 32 players. Also, all players must record demos (cg_autoAction 3)!

Update: Division 1 Match between United Kingdom ek and Finland xt is going to be streamed today at 14:00 CDT by Level Up TV.

Matchweek 2 is running and Thursday evening is going to be full of TDM action again.

Note: Due to the amount of no-shows for the first match day, and the short notice with which it was announced, all teams were given an extra 4 days to complete their first round matches. This way we managed to get almost all matches played but please read the Scheduling Reminder and make sure to play on time from now on.

Amateur Cups are going to be held in September 2011. In these cups, players will have the opportunity to get coached for an hour by a top level professional player. These tournaments will occur every Wednesday and Thursday, and as well as being able to compete directly for an hour of coaching on Thursday's tournament - players will be able to collect points to qualify to the monthly events where prizes are greater.

Yesterday, the esl2 ESL Major Series Season IX was announced with 8 titles. qlQuake Live will be part of this new season, and since IEM dropped Quakelive duel, it now becomes the new mode for EMS. The cash prize will consist of 1 000€ for the top3 players.


The qualifiers should be run on the following model: players will have to go through national cups to be placed in the Qualifiers Rounds, an international cup will be run for countries without national cups. Each country will get a number of players directly qualified and/or placed in the 2 Qualifier Rounds. We will reach a total of 20 players at the end of the process. Also, 4 players will get a direct invitation.

After reviewing the applications and running a few polls over the weekend, the captains of 24 countries taking part in the TDM Country Championship 2011 are known. They now have 2 weeks, until the 4th of September, to prepare and announce their rosters.


This list doesn't reflect the final list of participants which will be announced in September!
