ACTIVE ABILITY – PIERCING SIGHT

Using his Piercing Sight active ability, Visor can temporarily see through all matter, allowing him to keep tabs on any opponents who may be trying to get the drop on him. He can even use his Sight to track Nyx after she has activated Ghost Walk. Good luck trying to sneak up on a man who can see through walls.

PASSIVE ABILITY – GRASSHOPPER

Visor may be cocky about his skills, but he certainly has the speed to back up his claims. He can even keep up with the fast-talking (and faster moving) Anarki. Thanks to his Grasshopper passive ability, Visor can continually gain speed when strafe-jumping, with no cap on just how fast he can go. If you’ve got the skill, you’ll be able to keep up with anyone. Paired with Piercing Sight, Visor is a handful in Deathmatch and the perfect choice to bring along for a Duel.

Magikarp: With the ever-changing roster of Bald and Beautiful, this may be an interesting match. 2 Genders has 2 competent beginners going against wh1te, who is a definitely stronger player with laznic. Although I haven’t seen enough laznic action to see how this could go. Last week, BB took a bad loss on all 3 maps, and it didn’t help that they didn’t have any practice with coordination prior, but hopefully if they practice enough and wh1te gets accustomed to the maps, they can succeed. Hopefully this one is not a stomp for I think it MIGHT actually be a close-ish game.

xero: This game should produce some very tense and tight games. Bald and Beautiful have undergone some heavy roster changes which dramatically shifted the composition of their squad as sinbad and s4vo departed due to irl issues. Replacing them are the Finnish pair of ILIHIO and laznic, the former is a beginner and the latter is a very skilled, and relatively unheard of dueler. Last week they were thrown to to lions however hopefully they've had some time to iron out and issues they have when they face off against 2 Genders. Speaking of which the two young pups at 2 Genders had a decent showing against Sandels last week and will hopefully be to use that confidence boost to come all fired up for their final regular season game. Nutter and x0f are both active players with decent skills, but will really need to focus on their timing and tactics to overcome the stronger mechanics of their opponents.

Magikarp: This is a match that is going to be...interesting. 3 Finnish players in a single game, this game is going to be crazy! All 4 players are very competent at this point with the maps, and there’s no telling what might happen. Ahxnxa was definitely the star player that was spectated last week, and his play was just perfection, his trolling was also on point as he gave his own teammate light an empty LG. gaiia was pretty drunk last week with chrononaut, so they were slacking off a bit, but still winning. I think anything can happen in this game, but when push comes to shove, I think if gaiia is too drunk, it will not be good for him as ahxnxa and light are consistently bringing their A game.

xero: This game will be the first real clash of two titans in the regular season as veterans ahxnxa and light take on gaiia and the young gun chrononaut. I imagine 2 Retards as the slight favorites as they hold a considerable experience advantage. They will have to find a way to shut down or at least meaningfully mitigate gaiia impact. On the other hand Sandels will have to play a much more disciplined gamed than their counter parts and chrononaut will need to play a help gaiia take over the game. For Sandels to win gaiia will need to do gaiia things and play as greedily as needed to capture critical areas and items.

Europe -- Group B

CZSK vs. Okidoki [ Bets ] -- TBA.

Magikarp: We have quite the strong duo of Kimi and neverGreen going up against the CA pubstompers. WIth neverGreen being the power and strength of CZSK, having to deal with cxe and smofo’s pure aim, it could be a tough one. Kimi’s tactics, timing, and brains, may or may not be enough to secure a win, he might need to hit up the amphi beforehand to give a surprise attack to Okidoki and outdo them at their own game. Kimi has stated himself that he makes bad decisions and choosing his weapons, so hopefully he can work on that before the match.

xero: Another series with a playoff spot on the line. The only way both these teams can be eliminated is if Team Spain beats Promode.RU 3-0 and this series ends up in a 2-1 win for either side. It's not very likely but there is still that chance. I imagine that would be seriously disappointing for both of those teams, who have worked quite hard up to this point. CZSK will definitely have an advantage in timing, with a higher overall damage output potential, but Smofo will be the heavyweight on the server. Okidoki will need to find a way to unleash the full strength of Smofo and cxe should look basically time everything as accurately as possible and support Smofo in combat situations even if that means he had to bait himself.

Promode.RU vs. Team Spain [ Bets ] -- May 11 @ 12:30 CST nekonTV.

Magikarp: Definitely strong players in this match-up. But with memphis’ performance the last 2 weeks, it’s hard to say it would even be a close match. He has barely been trying, and santile has been trying his best. But in Mazu’s latest video, he claimed santile to be a Mexican God, so just maybe santile will be inspired to use his godlike powers to snatch a win from the Russians. beliars and eThaD have shown to be a very strong and powerful team in the last 2 weeks, they work very well together, so it won’t be easy. If Team Spain wants to have a chance, memphis is going to have to finally get serious and bring up his A game. Hopefully we get to see him do so for not only the entertainment of the viewers, but for himself to see if can overcome himself and overpower the Russians.

xero: The running stories of this group have been 1) Can anyone stop PM.RU? and 2) Will memphis show up? This week both of these two stories will come to a head as the Spaniards take on the Russians. On paper this looks like a very even match, however the results give us a different perspective as PM.RU had been obliterating teams that have beaten up the burrito boys. Team Spain is in a precarious position when it comes to their playoff chances as they need to beat PM.RU and to stand a chance at qualification. Meanwhile the Russians have displayed very dominant performances, not yet breaking a sweat against anyone. They play a heavy style, efficiently rotating between armors, freshly spawned enemies, and Quad. Both eThaD and veliars can output a lot of damage, and effectively manoeuvre themselves around the maps.

MANGIERIS vs. ProMode Admins [ Bets ] -- May 10 @ 15:00 CST nekonTV.

Magikarp: Last week, we got to see atp’s homing quad rockets (video) against fitemeIRL. Although it wasn’t quite enough with the ping of MANGIERIS to take a map. ProMode Admins had completely crushed GetServed last week, they are just the #1 team in NA that can’t be stopped. Unfortunate as it may be, it’s another win for ProMode Admins.

xero: In the Americas our first game of Week 3 will see the powerhouse PMA team go up against the flamboyant South Americans in MANGERIS. PMA is coming off their second 3-0 victory, and look to be the first team in the league to stamp their tickets to the playoffs. The duo of myT and naper are both dynamic players, both of which have the intelligence and skills to play either a carry, or support role dependin gon the situation. Facing off against quite heavy odds the Argentinians are in a David vs. Goliath scenario, where the only way to can make the play-offs is come out with a 3-0 victory. I'm hoping to see atp continue to impress with 160+ ping.

Magikarp: fitemeIRL did well to win last week’s matches, although the ping difference did take a bit of an impact. Unfortunately for GetServed, their match against MANGIERIS will be their only match win. fitemeIRL has experienced strong players who have been practicing each week. I have yet to see or notice GetServed practice as P$tache barely shows up. If they want to take a map, they need to practice a lot more before their match.

xero: Another very close series, where both teams need to secure a victory to ensure a play-off berth. Both of these teams were able to secure 3-0 victories versus MANGERIS, and both were soundly defeated by PMA 3-0. Now facing each other we'll get to see what they're really made of. The boys in fitemeIRL have appropriate level of skill, and experience to take this series, however ArticRevrus and Pi$tache won't be a couple to take lightly.

Period vs. Trump Walls [ Bets ] -- TBA.

Magikarp: With just Kwong-Lo or even only dys’ strength alone, it is more than enough to take down Trump Walls unfortunately as they freddiaN and kaskade are still beginners. Although kaskade does have some nice aim, his recklessness and rushing in is what causes him to lose games. Even if they give it their all, I don’t think they can take a map off of Period.

xero: Trump Walls have done quite well to make this far, the North America/European mix are both quite new players going up against teams with considerably more experience. They need to just relax, and heavily emphasize item control to stand a chance in this match up. PERIOD have coasted through their first two games, although they had a bit of a scare in Week 1 versus teotl. It's unclear just how much gellehsak we will get to see, but dys has provided enough support to Kwong-Lo to ensure that they are six for six in map to this point. They just need to keep doing what they've done up to now and that just to frag out..

Magikarp: This is definitely a difficult match to predict. Both teams are strong in their own way and can be quite even in their own sort of play-style. Teotl is a team that definitely shows up to items and attempts to try to gain control compared to RuN. With teotl practicing, and playing CPMA much more actively, the match is tilting in their favor. But it’s definitely possible for RuN to be able to take down teotl with their Quake experience and aim. If they want to take the whole game, they will need to practice more.

xero: Our final game this week again features two teams heavily battling it out for a play-off spot. I think the guys at RuN might be a bit disappointed with the performance last week versus PERIOD because DankJr and Rigg5 both have the skills needed to be challenging for first place in their group, but the lack of practice in combination with real life issues have not afforded them the opportunity. They will up against a feisty pair of Mexican Promoders, who have demonstrated great skill up to now. teotl will once again be playing with a ping disadvantage but forest is slowly climbing up the skill ranks, and he might be the difference maker this series.

naper: I think this is an easy win for Sandels. While chrononaut is a decent player, look for gaiia to one man army against 2 Genders in the same way we saw in last week's games. The only advice I can give to team 2 Genders is to focus on the Quad timing. Last week I saw gaiia get a little too comfortable and completely forget to time/show up for Quad a few times.

neverGreen: gaiia eats 2 Genders for breakfast and would run over four of them. This game will be just another fragmovie made by gaiia.

xero: The guys from 2 Genders will have to have perfect item timing, positioning, and decision making to have a chance to win this game. I think Sandels are beatable, and I hope they don't show gaiia too much respect. They need to be aggressive, and decisive.

naper: While I think 2 Retards should win fairly easily, this match still has the potential to be interesting. Although we saw Bald and Beautiful get bodied last week by Sandels, they weren't playing with Sinbad who is an experienced old-school player, and a core member of the lineup. To take a map off of 2 Retards their mechanics and timing will have to be top notch, so I hope they bring their A game.

neverGreen: Based on what I've seen ahxnxa is not rusty at all, and together with light they are a solid duo with rock solid performance. Something tells me we could see this team in the finals.

xero: If sinbad shows up this could be a potential match of the week candidate as the poles will have the firepower to challenge for one map. 2 Retards displayed utter dominance against 2 Genders last week, and their combination of skill and experience should be enough to take at least two of three maps, however if they become complacent we could see some real Polish lazery power.

naper: Before last weeks games, I would have said Team Spain would take this match 3-0. The problem is that Team Spain had a memphis playing who was only technically on the server. If we see the same memphis return, all kimi and neverGreen have to do is time their items/Quad and they should be able to win. However, if we see the memphis that everyone knows and loves playing (to his full potential) we could see Team Spain sweep the series 3-0.

neverGreen: If Team Spain only would play like they did against okidkoi last week. I believe we will take 2 maps.

xero: Yeah, that last week was disappointing but I'm hoping the Spaniards get some more time to play this week. If they show up like last week, kimi will time all the items, neverGreen will kill everything and that'll be that. I'm was a bit surprised that memphis wasn't familiar with The Hot Place as it is an older map. In the meanwhile santile's power-levels might increase enough to just carry memphis through this one. I didn't expect CZSK to get beat as badly as they did last week, but they did. Now, they'll have a (potentially) equally dangerous duo against them so they'll need to show up much sharper this time around.

naper: While we saw okidoki wipe the floor with Team Spain last week, that was all about Team Spain playing poorly and not reflective of team Okidoki's skill. On the other hand the Russians had a convincing 3-0 over CZSK, who are no slouches. I think this series can only go in favor of the Russians but I would love to be proved wrong.

neverGreen: Another candidate for the finals -- Promode.RU. They could lose on sanctum but will take two remaining maps for sure.

xero: I think Promode.RU has to considered a favorite to take this event after their display last week. As well as okidoki performed last week, they will have to show just that much more prepared this week, and a single map win has to be their objective. If they can zero in on their strongest map, and focus on it, they stand a chance to cause an upset.

xero: MANGERIS showed very good form last week even though the Argentinians had to play with a substantial ping disadvantage. They narrowly lost on Left Behind, and had a respectable game on Sanctum. Their ping does mean smaller maps like The Hot Place will be quite difficult to for them to play on. It's unclear what we have fitemeIRL as last week they played one of the top teams in the league. This week, we'll get to see what the combination of Chains, hehateme, and pan1c can muster against a very dangerous opponent.

neverGreen: PMA are somewhat similar to 2 Retards and on the top of that they have the best team co-ordination in the league. The only limitation is myT's ping. GetServed will be served.

xero: This can only really go one way, and sadly it's not going to be pretty for GetServed. PMA might be the best team in the event and were dominant last week against fitemeIRL demonstrating good awareness, co-ordination, map knowledge, and tactics. This will be a good team to study to get an understanding of how to play the maps.

naper: I have played with the Mexicans quite a bit in duels (some 2v2 as well) and I think that they should be able to outclass Trump Walls mechanically. The only question is if they will be able to outclass them cerebrally? During the matches they had against PERIOD, they gave up control of red armor far too often. I think they will win the series overall but I'm not comfortable predicting a 3-0.

xero: kaskade put on a performance last week showing some great play making abilities with aggressive rocketjumps, even if it was in a lost cause. Between him and freddiaN they have a good core but some times did not always have the greatest awareness of items. If these guys can start cycling armors and Quad, then kaskade should be able to do some real damage. teotl narrowly lost to one of the favorites of the tournament last week in PERIOD, almost beating them in two of the three maps. This week they'll get their chance for to secure a full nine points so long as forest's computer can hold up.

naper: This one is a no-brainer. While the RuN guys have mechanical skill, Kwong-Lo has years of experience timing armors and Quads. If it is Kwong-Lo and dys playing, I think this will be a 3-0 for Period. However, if gellehsak shows up to play with Kwong-Lo this could turn into a slaughter.

xero: Okay I'm not nearly as convinced that this will be a no-brainer. I think as DankJr and Rigg5 more comfortable in CPMA, they will start hitting harder, and harder. Last week PERIOD had a meaningful ping advantage of two of the three maps, on the final map, where pings were against them, they won by the skin of their teeth. RuN are an eastern team, and won't have any of those disadvantages. Now keep in mind, that they will face two potential challenges: Kwong-Lo is now more familiar on the maps, so his carry potential is going to climb exponentially, and will gellehsak play?

2 Genders vs. 2 Retards [ Bets ]

xero: The case of the two teams that start with the number 2. The guys from 2 Genders are relatively new to CPMA, and I've seen them improve over the course of the past few months. if they've had to time to really grind out the maps, then they should be able to win at least one map in this series. In contrast, the 2 Retards crew are both wily vets of CPMA, with exceptional mechanical skills, even, if they are under-prepared, the sheer firepower available to them should see them win out all three games by fairly significant margins.

Magikarp: Honestly, going to be a tough one to predict, we have some new generation EU players that can be quite tough versus two players who have been around for a while, although ahxnxa is probably quite rusty(haven’t seen him play in more than 5 months). I think 2 Retards will take a win, but it won’t be a complete stomp depending on how well the teams practice the new maps. Knowing ahxnxa, he might just be unpredictable and be quite the highlight of the match despite his rustiness.

Sandels vs. Bald & Beautiful [ Bets ]

xero: This should be the match of the week, as we see gaiia pairing up with Finnish newcomer chrononaut, to faceoff CPMA Promode old-timer sinbad, and movement maestro wh1te. I expect maps to be close for all three games, and BB* will need to find a way to either shut gaiia down completely, or minimize his impact as much as possible. They absolutely cannot afford to let him go on a Quad+stack rampage, especially on a brawling style map like The Hot Place. The Finns just need to do Finnish things, you know, hit everything that moves, and serendipitous-ly collect all the major items as they're running around on the maps. The other half of Sandels, chrononaut, will need to be effective in securing the right positions in preparation for major items, and avoid taking too much unnecessary damage. In the end I think Sandels will pull through if they come prepared, but I do expect BB* to take at least one map from the Finns.

Magikarp: We have quite a couple of old time and decently experienced EU players. Sandels is definitely the favor to win, gaiia is just too strong, and chrononaut can definitely hold his own versus BB. Sandels has also been far more active in CPMA while Sinbad and wh1te have been playing time to time as of recent in the last 2 months. If BB gets enough practice and the teamwork is strong enough, they can definitely make it a tough match, but I think gaiia will still overpower them…if he’s not drunk.

xero: The first game in this group will see quite a heavy stylistic clash when it comes to CPMA. The guys from CZSK emphasize a heavy control style with exceptional knowledge of items on the maps, and their spawn times. Kimi has exceptional timing abilities, and neverGreen is another battle-tested Promode veteran with good aim, and movement. In opposition, Promode.RU will be coming in considerably less prepared and will rely on their heavy mechanical advantage to carry them through. They will need to limit, and disrupt CZSK as much as possible, and constantly targeting kimi may effectively knock off the "head" of their opponents.

Magikarp: This is quite an interesting match-up, and it’s definitely a must-see, and possibly a must –stream game in my opinion. Kimi has grown quite strong in team modes, especially 2v2 as he has been digging it for a while now. His strong timing, coordination, and tactics is quite the advantage for him, and in combination with neverGreen who is a decently strong player, they can be quite the duo. It will definitely not be an “easy” match for Promode.RU I think, veliars is a strong player from what I seen or hear, but have yet to seen, the same goes for eThaD, both players have been around for a long time and are decently strong players. That’s quite the statement. Overall, I think if neverGreen and Kimi practice enough, they just might be able to overpower them. But for now, favor is in Promode.RU.

okidoki vs. Team Spain [ Bets ]

xero: okidoki lives! This might be the most surprising team two long time Promoders from different continents teamed up to enter. There isn't much to be said about Smofo's aim, it's fucking good, the real challenge will be if he can keep the enemy from getting under his skin. Helping out Smofo, will be former CPMA Community Favorite, cxe, who's trying to redeem himself one final time before he retires. This team is quite an odd mix, but so long as cxe can support Smofo, his aim should be able to take over the game. However, if they fall into tiltland, you can except this one wrap up quite quickly.

Team Spain will come with exceptionally gifted duel players. The real test will be if they have had any preparation on the maps, if yes, then they should come into this game as the heavy favorite. If they show up not knowing the maps, it could get quite messy, but the ping factor should be enough to keep them competitive in the series.

Magikarp: There are many strong veterans in this matchup. Smofo and cxe are CA pub-stompers and are naturally born fraggers. But I think the movement and tactics of santile and Memphis, on top being also being strong fraggers, is going to be what wins them the game. Memphis is definitely one of the top EU duelers, but he may be quite a bit rusty in CPMA and I have no idea how well he is in team modes. I don’t think this will be an easy match either for Team Spain, but the win is in their favor. I believe this will be a very strong and hard frag battle, but okidoki has been getting in some practice, so we just might see them overpower Team Spain.

Americas - Group C

MANGIERIS vs. Get Served [ Bets ]

xero: Two teams made up of players new to the game. This could actually be quite fun. After dueling atp, it's quite clear that his mechanical skill is going to be the best on the server, as the fiesty Argentinian player can hit hard. I'm not as familiar with his team mates, but MANGIERIS will need to play a very controlled game to build up a stack heavy enough to mitigate their ping disadvantage. On larger maps such as Left Behind, and Sanctum it is quite possible to build, and maintain a positional advantage so long as the map awarness is there.

Magikarp: This will be hard to predict a bit. Atp is definitely a decently strong player, with only lag holding him back. I have no idea about his partner though as I never seen them play. P$ has proven to be quite a strong beginner from the Kirby Cup and has always been a duel partner to Arctic. Both of them have already had quite the connection with each other for a long while now, and with the ping advantage, I think it’d be a fair game. I think the team that practices the maps the most will have that much of an edge over their opponent for this one especially. Choosing a favored winner was not easy, but I’ll favor GetServed since I have at least seen their players actively play, with atp being the only one from MANGIERIS that I have seen play.

fitemeIRL vs. ProMode Admins [ Bets ]

xero: This might end up being the most challenging game for PMA. They've been putting in good time into the maps and should hold the advantage in most areas in this match-up. The only thing which go wrong is if fitemeIRL manages to find away to abuse myT's ping, and get under his skin. Chains' aim shouldn't be taken lightly, and combined with hehateme1's & pan1c's experience they could cause an upset here. If they can take steal a map, it's as good as a win.

Magikarp: I think this will be a definite win for ProMode Admins. Naper is definitely one of NA’s finest players and myT’s LG is a force to be reckoned with. Both players are fiercely strong in their own way. Hehateme1 has been out of the loop a bit, only playing quite a few times last couple months, and pan1c has returned a few months ago and has been derusting. But with naper and myT still in decent shape, and they have been practicing, I would say it’s a win for them. How easy will it be? I don’t know.

RuN vs. Trump Walls [ Bets ]

xero: The guys from RuN haven't played much CPMA but they are quite comfortable in PQL, and they should see a very quick and efficient transition into Promode. Trump Walls are both relatively new players, and freddiaN has done well in some of the beginner events we've held, however, I think they will be outclassed here. Chin-up boys.

Magikarp: I haven’t seen any of RuN ever play but I believe they definitely have some Quake experience. xero seems to know them I think, so they definitely do have some sort of background. Meanwhile, Trump Walls is completely beginners, with kaskade being the newest one. Despite kaskade being the newest one, I have dueled him and he definitely has some aim in him, but it won’t be enough. I think if Trump Walls practices the maps enough and work on their coordination, they can definitely be on par with RuN.

Period vs. teotl [ Bets ]

xero: Potentially the strongest pair in the event if gellehsak can shake off the rust. Combined with Kwong-Lo they just might be unstoppable, but we'll have to wait and see. forest and kumo are skilled players, but it looks like they'll be getting their toughest test at the very start.

Magikarp: Period has NA’s strongest players, gellehsak who has returned, and kwong. Just one of these players on a team is quite the power, but with both in combination, it is possible that they can be the best team in the whole league. Teotl consists of forest who has been very active in NA pickups, and kumo who has recently been playing too. Unfortunately, their experience and strength will not be able to match Period and they will need to practice the maps and their coordination nearly perfectly in order to be able to hold their own against the two fragging monsters of NA. The one advantage they will get to have is knowing the map if they do practice.

One of the central areas in the ruins is home to a Heavy Nailgun, Lightning Gun, and a Light Armor. Defenders will want to try and use the high ground to neutralize the effects of the Rocket Launcher, while attackers may want to coordinate entering through several entrances in order to split defender attention. The two jumppads in the corners provide an entrance with some cover, although care must be taken when trying to enter from the Cistern as it is a bit more tight and susceptible to splash damage.

The Temple Mask is where you'll find the second Obelisk. This room is also notable for the T-shaped pillar that can be shot in order to temporarily sink it into the ground. Players coming in will have the high-ground, but the defensive positions will have cover to their advantage, and possible exit routes through the Portico and the Antechamber.

A simple room, but important as it contains a teleporter that brings you near the powerup near the Eye of Cthalha. Its two exits bring you to either side of the wall near the mask, allowing attackers to flank players who are holding back too much.

Featuring the Railgun in the center of the room, the Cistern is a dangerous area that allows quick transit to most of the arena. A jumpad out will lead you directly onto the high ground in the Ziggurat Base, but the high arc of the jump is much more likely to leave you for railbait.

The watchful Eye of Cthalha sits underneath alternating Quad Damage and Protection Power-Ups. Even when the Power-Ups haven't yet spawned, you'll still want to hold onto this room to control the Mega Health, with the ability to easily restock the Rocket Launcher. If you ignore this room entirely, you may find yourself imprisoned in the swinging cage above.

Sitting directly between the Mask and the Ziggurat is where you'll find the Heavy Armor, in this very tall two-story room. Hanging around in here too long without a charged Dire Orb allowing you to teleport to the top floor without making a risky Rocket Jump is not advised. The Sluiceway offers an alternate connection to the Super Shotgun room and into the Cistern.

This easily holdable area works great as a means to stage an attack on the Ziggurat Base. Although light on resources, you'll find yourself adjacent to the Railgun and Heavy Armor. The jumppad in the back leads to an area with some amount of cover, making it one of the safer places to pop up from.
