Midair + Q4W physics = Ownage

looks good but the last part was a lil boring :x

I guess it's a semiteaser or something like that since it only shows 2 of the many features and so on... but it's only ment to give you an idea of what to expect.

There are way too many 'me too' mods for this game already... and all it does is break up the incredibly small community.

There's a difference between q4max&xbm kind of competition mods and GTR that is purely for the fun.
Q4's community is small because the game is not fun, and making mods only to suit competitive play doesnt make it any more fun for john doe who plays just for the pleasure of playing and not for winning tourneys.

GTR aims for fun gameplay and loads more game types, not to steal q4max's or XBM's place in leagues.

And I want to play this game for fun !

Yes I agree, and also most people are not anough "cultured" in games; they only know CS and Blizzard games.

Q4 has a wery smal comunety, and lots of the players that play Q4 dose it only becous it is the new "CPL" game, wher the tournaments and stuff is at, not becous it is the best game ever.

So when you have a small comunety wher som of the players dont even like the game that much its kinda hard to make a mod (even if its fun as hell) bigg.

IMO GRT makes Q4 (a fun game if you ask me) even better, but it's kinda hard to make players that hate Q4 try a mod to a game they hate. And thats one of the reasons GRT isent beeing played, not becous "the days of the fast FPS is over" stuff.

GTR sounds like a tempting option for playing Q4, but with the engine as it is, there's no way I'd install Q4 again, it's just too painful to play.

EDIT: Nice try with the movie, but the music is awful and the midair stuff got kinda boring after 30secs :(

Maybe someone with more experience at strafing and editing could make the next teaser video instead of ver1tas. Not that I have anything agaisnt him making it, but others sure seem to have :)

q4 is fun. q4 had a small community because of its initial playability issues and dm style games are not as popular as they once were

The best way to show off this mod is not by releasing a movie of someone with bad strafe skills, running through a bad looking map, shooting at ugly brightskins.. while listening to terrible music.

Thing is, if you want to promote something and reach as many people as possible, a more classical and easy to listen tune is preferable than something that agressive. But it could be the image they want to give themself.

just played around in qw/cpma movement in GTR, feels ok, some small things are different, which isnt bad at all imo. now if there were only more players to play against..

This has nothing to do with QW. Q4W is some mod which the developers "gave up" on and released the code which Bandit has then added to GTR as a mode.

I just played on the server for a bit and maybe my shit was messed up (which is impossible cuz it was default server setting?)

anyway it wasnt anything like QW movement, no air control at all and the map it was on didnt have any weapons? (and u dont have all weapons in warmup).

Please dont take this as bashing of GTR. TBH, it sounds more fun than Q4, and I would play it, but I, like all other Q4 players, play for moneys/professionally. Sooo... fun mods aren't an option for me :[.

I hope all the players that do play for fun switch to this tho, and maybe the pros can follow.

there is no aircontrol in gtr mode, you need to vote it, because its an option.
do this with "callvote setconfig q4w" or "callvote setconfig qw"
and reverse it with "callvote setconfig gtr"
possible, that only a few weapons with unlimited ammo are added,
because someone enabled a traineemode, in this case, do this:
"callvote traineemode 0"

just ask me to play midair for the next movie :D

The movement in GTR is fantastic but imo the shaft is too weak now, its almost as useless as hyperblaster in base.

i is harder too fix, will be done sooner or later and as a tech problem everybody will agree

well ok, shaft is a little too weak, and I might alter it sometime,
but I want the weaponbalance to be tested more, so players get used to it.
when u are used to it, and it still feels to weak, I'll change it.
I'll check the weaponbalance once again in maybe 1-3 month, depending on how much players join the game.

I just find that with the smaller hitboxes, increased rocket speed, and generally faster speeds in which you are being attacked at, have negated shafts benefits at all ranges. Fighting enemys on lower parts of the map is the only time i'm finding myself use it now.

ok it's q4 with q4w-physics (yay I can play q4w if i want that or qw), wow it's got mid-air (qw has that, and the physics) and it got a faster rl-speed (which also qw has) but there is one thing... ITS STILL Q4, so I can simply keep on playing qw. Qw ftw! Q3 is also better than this, maybe even ut...

Edit: I'm not bashing this mod, I'm bashing the game itself, and yeah it seems kinda stupid to make another mod, you'll just make the community even smaller.

But I have downloaded it and will now checkup on the CFG to suit my needs. And I am eagerly waiting for the FT part in this mod =)
