i have to be honest, i haven't seen any demo of amcs yet.
but from what i have heard, nothing wrong with it.
why do all the maps have to "aggressive".
i liked the q3 combo of "passive" and "aggressive" maps (ztn/aero).

The blue/fazz demo was pretty good...

So was cha0ticz vs. RocketBoy and socrates vs. fox
On the other hand ztrider vs toxic was not

Might as well ask you since your opinion will have more weight then the average joe.

I began to think that the layout of AMCS was too one sided (and i like the map! :/), a person sitting around lg denying the opponent it, easily running ra and even ya/mega. While the opponent has no other choice then to spam rockets and/or try some mg/sg from afar occasionally. Would you think the same?

That's usually how it works whenever I've played it.

I guess this will become another CPL map committe turnaround. I don't doubt they have people who know how to play games, but while being good at a game increases your chances of knowing what you're talking about, it does not mean you know what makes a good level. Too many of the wrong cooks spoiling the broth.
