This is a video of the map 'The Ark', which we were able to play on a visit at splashdamage, and we wanted to tell you something about what you can see here:
As you can see, 'The Ark' is playing in a snowlandscape, to be exactly in norway.
In the background you can already see the important part of the map. In these domes, are hiding a human research complex, which the strogg don't like very much.
Thats what this multiplayer map is all about.
Just as in Battlefield, there are ground, water and air vehicles. Strogg and Humans have both transport- and combathelicopters.
Here you can see Paratroopers jumping out of a transport helicopter.
On the ground, that combat robot is the 'Goliath', a very strong combat vehicle of the strogg.
Its only weak point is, that it is very ponderous. so if you are able to attack him from behind, you should be able to defeat him, as he turns arround very slowly..
The GDF, the human army, is using more conventional combat machines, like this titan tank.
Both sides differ much more than for example in battlefield.

The rocket you can see in the background here is one of the strategic weapons, which the specialists of both sides can use.
You can create them with a construction tool and send them with binoculars on their target. Except from these rockets, there is also artellerie, air strikes, and automatic turret guns.

In the background you can now see the strogg base and you finally get to see the game from the players view, the classic ego perspective.
Although the interface is missing here, which is very similar to the one from wolf:et.

et:qw plays pretty similar to the unofficial predecessor wolf:et.
The equipment of the strogg is pretty unusual. The soldier in front of us fr example is for example flying with a jetpak, the so called 'Icarus'.
This vehicle is useful to get fast from one point to another, but is also very handy when it comes to jump on houses, or other positions which are hardly reachable.
The rocketlauncher is one of the stronger weapons of the strogg. There are for each of the 5 classes per side different weapons and equipments.
The rocketlauncher is only for the agressor, which is a frontline soldier. He has also these handgrenades in his inventory.
He can bear very much. Generally stroggs bear very much. Although you need to be careful, as you lose energy when getting hit, and when shooting.
so if you run arround with sustained fire, it could happen that you die from the very first hit you receive.
On this video we have to say, the developers cheated a little to show more of the battle. Stroggs are not as strong as shown with this player.

Such detention mines like the player currently attaches here, are normally used to destroy strategically important constructions like spawnpoints for example.
But they can also be used to destroy enemy vehicles.
