Here it is folks, the sequel to my 2005 frag highlights video ("q6 bei bei") of the now defunct South African multi-gaming clan, Quadrant 6. The frags were collected since straight after the release of the original video (April 2005) and includes frags from various modes of OSP including: 1v1, TDM, CTF and FFA.

Thanks, I ran out of hd space (132 gigs of AVIs). I have lots of extra content. I was gona add a "bloopers" section after the credits.

Will up it (if I still make it) once I have deleted the raw 132 gigs of stuff off my hd.

Really nice camera angle stuff, especially with the shaft.

Anyway game movies have stopped doing it for me and I almost never enjoy them unless there's some insider humour in it or whatsoever.

Good frags are only impressive versus good players, that is the top tier guys.

First of all, I captured the demos to screenshots using Quake 3 with OSP and a movie config (which is attached to this post). I then converted the screenshots to an avi compressed in HuffyUV using Virtual Dub (and some processing settings which are attached). I then edited the avis (which are very big and basically uncompressed) in Sony Vegas 5.

My final render was actually quite bad, I wanted to do a 2 pass encode in Xvid, but Sony Vegas is kind of gay with Xvid. It also wouldnt let me render the sound in mp3, so the sound is actually uncompressed (which I am sure is about 25% of the actual file size. I bet all the Shaolin guys are gasping ;) But ye, was getting bored of having the vid on my pc ;)

You should've rendered it uncompressed from vegas and then done a 2 pass render using vdub, then you'd have better video quality + compressed audio = small filesize and just as good quality more or less =)

Any info on new mirrors? only having filefront is very bad as it is super slow to download from : / you could ask Nicky if she wants to put it up on Levitation download!

looking forward to, hopefully, a q3 vid with the pure frag pwnage, missed those vids for quite some time.

Compressing to HuffYUV after editing is still a good idea. Then again, if you are strapped for space it's more than likely impractical.

velocity envelope is a lot better than ctrl+click. i'd really suggest getting used to it. you get a lot more control that way, especially in vegas 7 with freeform envelopes.

Really enjoyed this movie!

frags were entertaining and kept u watching (some of the best frags ive seen in a movie of late)
quality was good
music, u can never go wrong with prodigy for a q3 frag movie
editing, really nice actually (enjoyed the start thing alot)

I really like it.
frags are maybe not that great, but thereare some excellent shots and fortunately not as many 'lame' shots (dm17 etc) as in the last movie.
I also like the different camera angles. Music is ok too.

Liked the movie, mainly beacuse of the cams, those closeup/low fov cams were really well done, refreshing to see, few persons who dare to pull off stuff like that, because it's risky and (imo) hard to do.

the overall feel was pretty good, ingame sounds might have made it better.

Ye that was what I was going for (this post might look weird, very drunk atm). Low fov cams + clean cut editing style = cinematic. I love vids which go for a cinematic feel over "flashy, lets see how many effects we can add in".

Videos such as "The Art of Tricking 2" and "Cattuthaj Jhana" are my inspirations :) Low fov cams are also very hard to do as they limit the amount of places you can put them in without pushing them through the map ^^

keeps freezing my mediaplayer classic after a few seconds all the time, but runs fine in vlc (cba to install the xvid version that comes with the movie tho)

maybe bit overdone with the 3rd person cams in the beginning, no ingame sounds and overused soundtrack..
..but some sweet frags and memories :)

Is there any reason why I'm seeing massive compression artifacts?

I'm using the latest XviD codec and the latest Media Player Classic (v6.4.0.9), but the artifacts show up the same for both WMP v6.4 and v8.0. I've encountered this problem on another video, tricking iT2, as seen here.

Any idea on what could be causing it? Is anybody else getting the same thing?

It started as a joke at LANs, we would shout "manic baby!" and then someone (dodge) decided to write it as "bei bei".

doesnt play smooth, regardless of the player i use. tried vlc, mpc, zoomplayer, wmp.. could someone please point me to that movie player which had no controls whatsoever, just opened a window with the media playing? i forgot the name.

Great movie. I enjoyed it tremendously.

It has two minor drawbacks though:

This Q3 "Eragon". Everything is fine, but it's somehow boring from unknown reason, like I seen all that frags, effects, song in other movies. Dunno which rate I should give, really.

Enjoyable movie for sure, nice frags good editing nice music.
The frags were just very nice to watch, somewhat repetitive at times, but not boring at all. Though I never had an "omgwtfbbq" moment.
Editing was nice, briefly, clean, nothin uberspectacular, just the way a nice fragmovie should be.
Music: brilliant song, too bad it hasn't been used before. The voodoo people always was my favorite prodigy song, but when pendulum made a remix of it, it really drove me wild, I LOVE it!
No ingame sounds: fu lazy bastard, it's always better to have ingame sounds!
Conclusion: nice movie, definately worth a re-watch: 8/10
