GameReady Productions presents a tribute movie for #Quake4All @ QNet, showing you 6:34 min of some nice fragging made by the players of Q4All.

Edited by Whorechild and 3D animations by Hydde, we hope we would make a different fragmovie, by combining our skills. Since Q4 still need some more love, we also thought this movie could help you all change your mind about Q4 a little bit :)
But, the main reason why we made this movie, was because of our love for the game! :)

the worst problem in q4 moviemaking is that there are no moviemaking tools for it. The situation 4 quake3 was the asme in the beginning. We can just hope that developpers will see the potential in q4 moviemaking and will create some camming/editing tool for this game.

iirc q3 atleast had great screenshot capturing capability from day 1. cl_avidemo "fpsvalue" worked great. we could cap at whatever fps we wanted even back then. on dedicated as well as listen server demos. it's taken q4 close to a year to have sub par netdemo screenshot output :< and that is thanks to people from the community. the game really should have had it right from the beginning.

but i bet we'll never see stuff like 'tricking IT' in q4.
and fraghighlight movies are also nothing compared to q3 movies like fuel 1 and 2.
ths bar set by q3 is way too high for q4.

and way back in the days i also remember movies like 'made for quake' and 'clip quake' they are still watchable today, even tho the quality sucks compared to the uber-codecs used today.
and the tricking movie 'seismology' was way impressive in 2001.

getting a bit off topic here but i remember these phat-jump dudes, and they were awesome! i think they came up 2000 or 2001. and watching stuff by these guys just made the game more fun, even for a non-trickjumper

sorry but i refuse to agree that it is decent. Bandit did a great job on getting netdemo screenshot capturing to work but that 60fps cap thanks to the engine is still lousy. cap any higher and you get duplicate frames. if im not mistaken, even qw and q2 have much better screenshot output capability and they're so old. if only q4 had been like that, we may have seen a lot more movies than what we have today.

Q4 engine has the power to make appear even the best frags as boring, shallow and predictable. And there aren't many in here anyway.
Nice editing, apart the music, I would have prefered more action than the nerd part, but I think there wasn't other material at disposal.

The gaming community really suffers from the big blub of immature kidz with no self confidence, not knowing what a humble attitude is and no interest in increasing creativity and drive. Its so full of non-talented jealous guys to lazy to do anything by themselfes. Complaints about the file compression (!), a short movie, or actually not even having a reason for saying "that sucks!. Makes me really a sad panda.

Keep up the good work guys, we need all the stuff you provide us with, to not to be depending upon commercial players that stuff shite down our throats. Im really so fed up with whining from people not doing anything at all except trashing other peoples work. Be a man, get hair on your chest or do something!

Hmmmm.

I gotta say that after watching this and Bloodshed 1.3, I once more feel like playing Quake4. After the Australian ESWC quals last year, i gave up on Q4 and moved back to Quake3. So I guess I will be playing both again, ^_^.

The animations and music (especially the music) ruined it for me. Great editing for what it is but I can't look past the music to really enjoy it. 4/10

Why the hell did you make most of the movie in slow motion? Don't you think q4 is slow enough already? :(

3:10 intro/outro out of 6:30 total length? That's almost 50% waste, must be some sort of record. Although, since the actual gameplay is boring (not your fault, blame q4) the long intro/outro might actually be a good thing.

some pointless content, the music should be banned, it has been run dry, frags were medicore at best but half of this is due to the quake 4 maps.

good movie, but q4 movies arent as exciting to watch as q3 movies, probably because q4 isnt as exciting to play as q3.

the oversized world
the bouncy arcade feeling
the instant reaction
the faster movment

q3 is just superior..Im not trying to start another q3>q4>q3 debate but thats just how I feel about it.

if I cared to relearn radiant (havent used it in about 3 years) Id remake some q4 maps for q3 so they could be played properly. and in a game that deserves more good maps, and more good movies to be made using it.

good movie, bad game.
