u should call all pop music emo, because most songs follow the same formula of like 'love' or that crap. its just how pop music is, and certain 'bands' like my chemical romance and fallout pop have jumped on the bandwagon and been labelled 'KINGS OF ZE EMO' or whatever by dump magazines like NME, when reality it isnt anything except pop music + guitars. when i refer to emo i would refer to proper so-called 'emotive hardcore' not this new pop music bs emotional lost my girlfriend music.

It's still lovely. See, these knives don't fly in a straight line like a rocket. :)
It's not only a question of direction and timing, you also have to appreciate the right angle from the ground for the knife to land at the right place.
Honestly, I haven't found anything as satisfying as landing a knife in someone's head with the perfect timing, distance and direction ever since. Only a triple midair rocket comes close to it. :)

Ya stakegun is comparable although it doesn't have quite the same curve.
Q3 nades aren't really comparable, you can't throw them half as far as a knife, hence it's always close/mid-range. Have you even checked some of the knife kills in this vid ? :)

cpma nades go further than VQ3 / PMC

Nades aren't "leet" because you can only throw them at close/mid-range. Some of those knife kills come from quite a distance, it's a whole other level really.

I meant midair grenades on extreme destances.

Yeah, you probably don't remember me. I played in ALIS together with people like: daasch, pollen, sunfuego, Grey, MetaVoid.

We were mostly a public clan, playing on GameLand (where I was admin).

ALIS doesn't sound too unfamiliar actually... but that must be ages ago :)

Anyone remember a clan like =]SWS[= or something ? There used to be that insane HPW amongst them, Lazurus I think.
Used to cross those guys alot on Barrysworld (UK) / Joystick (FR) servers. :)

Not sure if I would say that but... Knives and buttkicks were definitely $$

yea it was great fun indeed. I don't know if we were the favourites... whatever was a really good clan back then already and were more active then us. I didn't play anything between both FOC.... but ofcourse we were disappointed :/

Geebus Gooseman, why did you come up with something like CS after working on that goddammit.

Tbh when gooseman was in control of CS it shared a lot of the good qualities of AQ2 and was pretty fun, it's once valve basically took control of it from him that they turned it into the slow, monotonous piece of shit it is now. There's some kind of clause in valve's sdk or w/e that says if you make a mod using hl then they own it so all the mods that became popular eventually came under valve's control (cs, dod etc)

I like the maps a lot because they remind me on my first attempts creating duke nukem maps. Especially the city maps.

Aq2 was always fun to play, shame I haven't played more.

Editing and music is okay, some frags were really impressive.

weird combination of movement and weapons, but looks like fun.
movie is good, but nothing really special

It was, as far as I can remember, the first attempt at a pseudo-realistic mode, with realistic weapons.
It was still strongly inspired by action movies such as John Woo's, and thus the Q2 physics (strafe jumping, circle jumping, double jumping etc) were left untouched, with no stamina bullshit or anything of the sort. At some point, there even was a server-side mod who would make you make sheep sounds (something like "beeeh I'm here") if you stayed for too long at the same place. :P
The weapons were violent (hence the numerous shotgun runs in this vid, for instance, or the intensive use of knives), and it made for great pace and fun. :)

My point of view of the game, played if for 4-6 years (off and online), all boils down to doing a jump in urban (from the highest building) shooting a guy below you on the street with a headshot with the sniper... while in mid-air.

A very good movie! Too bad about the low FPS/choppyness, but still, very enjoyable! Very well made and some crazy frags =)

why on earth did you remove the ingame sounds? 5/10

I dont rate this movie 1 bit, the graphics are obviously limited as its q2 engine, but the music was just bad clarity on the stream and noisey, and action quakes gameplay just looks like a run and shoot around. Very basic! And the frames were choppy, it wasnt something ud watch to enjoy, more like put up with.

Very nice to see this oldie again, however it looks like the game uses another shader now? as far as i can remember the graphics looked way different when i played it(less cartoonish and more pixelated), but thats in the last millenium so... :)

How do you make your AQ2 look like it does in the movie? I downloaded APRQ2, which is a client that allows cell shading. It helped a little but it still doesnt look like it does in this movie. Is it some kind of pak or special config settings?
