the only real bad aspect is that its still running on the fixed-tic logic of the idtech 4 engine running at 30Hz. they've 'unlocked' the graphical framerate by allowing it to interpolate the data between tics, so you can have 120 fps for example, but there will only be 30 true frames and the others will be predicted, which makes it a little jerky at times.
basically they seem to have decided that it's a better compromise to sacrafice smoothness in order to have comletely equal physics for all players.
however i'm of the opinion that its better to sacrafice equal physics for smoothness, and is less of a sacrafice from a players persepctive. but i guess this is what happens when the developers are programmers and not players and think 30Hz is a fast rate.
i think i'll stop myself there before this turns into a rant...
