That visportal edge-case bug is a complete non-issue. Fixing it in q4 will give minimal noticable improvement IMO, but in ETQW it pretty much doesnt apply as when you're in a big outside environment, so visportals dont really help you anyway.

So when fixing all visportals in a Q4 map it runs smoother on vanilla Q4 then the original with a mod , so yes there isn't a issue with it. Fixing this issue will make maps run much better then gaining 15 fps with a hud. But it's hard to notice these things when you don't really play the game.

The issues you're addressing when repositioning the visportals are not related to the bug as that is a very specific case, and unrelated to almost all of the performance issues. You're just improving the positions of the visportals, which can certainly be improved in many maps, but its not a bug.

Anyway, its not worth debating this further - if/when id release a q4 patch with this fixed, then you'll hopefully see that sadly this is no magic fixall for q4 performance issues. Until then, please stop whining about this pointlessly - especially in ETQW threads, where it really is of no importance at all.

That's where your wrong. Cause you need to re-position the visportals differently and use suplementary visportals cause the visportals are broken at certain angles. The issue makes undesired things happen, and can be fixed with a bad workaround.

Adding more visportals to fix other visportals makes other things add up making it worse on other areas, but the gain of adding more visportals are much larger then the cons so that's why it's done. And it's not how issues should be fixed.

Making a mod run smoother helps as the large stutterings accuring and reported by players doesn't happen as often. Instead you get smaller stutterings all the time. Fixing the issue and the stuttering is gone and will make mods and vq4 run the given maps equally good.

Stating that this is a 'complete non-issue' pretty much states that you do not have a clue about what the issue is and what it does. Also being smart enough to say

but... paintball fucking sucks so hard : way too expensive, painfull, hurting, tiring with too much bad referees and mostly only the weekends and not when you want exepting if you like running alone + they stoppped games in forest for those plastic shits. I stoppped paintball ~8/9 years ago because I discovered PC gaming wich is, jeez, so so SO better in all ways than paintball exepting for the physical part of the sport wich is for me THE uninteresting part of any sport.
