yea i was invited but as much as i would like to go and play with some of the best players ever to play the game, i had to turn it down as I have 3x TF2 events to goto with TLR: i34, pcgamer and easybash.. or rather, i didnt have to, but the prizemoney for pcgamer alone is £15000 first place so go figure. if you're going to begin flaming about certain players (for a start i didnt accept my invite because of the TF2 lans i mentioned in my comment, and i do not think i should have been invited since i have not even been playing vq3 that long, regardless of how good or bad i am.. so why even bother) you have to also ask yourself why is ddk going, regardless of how he stands in the UK online, winning eswc with 2 participants (one that doesnt even play quake 3, and the other who no-one has ever heard of) does not count as a 'result', nobody can even argue that its not his fault if no-one entered, because, although it's not... it still does not make the result noteworthy, it was a poor event, period.

and hes not won anything before that in quake 3, playing uk tdm does not count and the only thing going for such player is that he plays actively... what about toogood, slimer, dreg? so what if they didn't enter the event, doesn't mean the UK deserve a spot because one player plays actively.. as you said.. america + europe does not = the world, but also don't forget, the UK with ddk or me, does not apparantly = masters :)...

thats why there were national qualifiers with this tournament seperately, so more people got a chance. But then in regards to masters, no single person knows everything, do you expect eswc admins to be god? maybe its good that other people get a chance, so don't get so wound up about wrong picks, yes some may be wrong but have you tried arranging an invite only event where nothing is paid for you, and little prizemoney? not everyone plays for SK-Gaming, the trip from america makes no sense unless you win...

you have also failed to notice that such players like me were backup invites, when i turned it down aswell as other players, including backups did, players like ddk got chosen because maybe even the backup i recommended hadturned it down. (not that i should have been chosen before ddk btw, it just happened that i was)

do your reading on the posts or use a little common sense which i am sure you have before you make comments, it makes you and everyone else that rages out or even threatens to write a long email message to eswc (lol - yes you know who you are) look like total retards.

btw this is not just at you, its at all the whiners, and i don't have anything against ddk, hes generally a good player, i am just using an example.

and yes your right about that tournament.. i also think that would be a good idea, but then you have to think about location and then who wouldnt/couldn't go for their own reasons.. including most importantly; financial. pro's and cons with each.

but the admins have done a relatively good job, i'll enjoy watching the majority of the games, its difficult to set an invite only tournament that offers no expenses covered - which is why there are some people you would not expect.

as far as im concerned, i am not going and never was, i explained this each time they brought it up in the channel (over 5 times) they also tried to make me give it to ddk, deciding that it should be another uk player as uk should replace uk, therefore they became eswc admins and completely missed the fact i replaced a european player anyway explaining that dan deserves it, and as far as i am aware he hasnt achieved anything, ever, so how does such a player deserve it any more than i do? players like 2gd or dreg deserve it if anyone so i am told by players, but just because they might have not applied or dont play that game, why should another player get it because he is british and plays the game actively? ie. I am just being honest, is it actually me who isn't?

basically they avoided the fact i cant actually decide who i give it to and just attempt give me a bad reputation despite me never actually stating i was going, or saying that i am good enough, its common knowledge that i do not think i would win, why would i think otherwise lol? i have always said that if i was to go, it would be for fun, in fact, its fun for most of the players going, only 3 or 4 will compete for first place, the rest probably know they won't win, they instead assumed i was and decided to overlook each time i said i wasn't changing the subject wherever necessary to be abusive

Didn't apply because I saw HELL had signed up and assumed he would get picked over me anyway because of his q3 record. Obviously quite miffed when he dropped out that I was not in the backups

that was most peoples common misconception, nationalities had nothing to do with the invites so it would have been more than possible that you could have also attended, ah well :)
