same as vq3? well i use same settings and it feels really different. most of the time it's a lot faster. i could reduce accel. except sometimes it's just really slow, and i'm not imagining it i'm sure.

Search the QL forums for an explanation to how it works, and you should (fingers crossed, touch wood) be able to replicate the accel feeling you get from Q3 if you're having problems with the regular one.

there is a sensitivity problem, got it myself on 2 pcs and heard it from some other ppl too, when i start the game the first time my sens is fine and the same as in q3, after some time tho its suddenly a lot faster and i have to change /sensitivity from 2.6 to 1 to get the same sens, after a browser restart its normal again. :E

Man that map is fuckin shite, it makes me want to fall asleep. Two rooms a couple of hallways, smashing! But for some reason it plays ok as a ffa map.

ppl also play aero, what's wrong about small maps?
sure it needs some tweaking but it's better than almost any of the 1v1 maps that are avialable right now.

Although i'm not a big fan of aero, i think it's a solid little map. I just feel like furious heights is almost a quake4 reject map. Totally uninspiring.

I gotta agree with diabz, but QL definitely has the potential to bring in more players because its gameplay is much more simple.

That's why Toxic never won anything in Q3 but won everything (pretty much) in Q4.

Similar could have been said about av3k... a few weeks ago.

Toxic attended big LAN events in Q3 before (and didn't place too great), av3k started later and never got a chance to before now.

But the biggest thing on quake live what sucks is that you cant choose between other physics. Why dont just make a button where the server host can choose if the server runs on cpm or on vq3. I like both so that would be perfect.

cpma sucks, all +forward lg or +back rail. QL is like... a fucking fight. Quakelive is much better... Its faster since its like OSP strafing, but still accurate, no laggy jumps. Its better because someone can still shaft you to hell 40+ but you dont feel dominated because cripple is gone- so when hes shafting, you can actually DODGE it and own him with other guns - plasma in the face is good. Rail is easy to hit like cpma, maybe the lag is a bit off but its 80 damage so no prob. Spawns are different for regular maps- dm6 is near balanced now..Overall quakelive blows cpma out of the water comparing FUN and balance of weapons/fighting/strategy. All it needs now is bells and whistles and a userbase.

I really, really hope that it's half-way decent (netcode and gameplay) and that the matchmaking and stats tracking works well. If they can do those things, I'll be playing QL inbetween CPM pickups/duels.

Quakelive, even if it is not a game based on some new engine, got the attention of the community and maintain the aspect of fresh air to the game, while keeping the old players together. Even if it won't be that good as q3 vq3, the aspect of "new" might result in some gaming organisations picking up this game for competitions.
From what I've seen from vods, the difference between quake live and quake 3 is not that big. I am glad they fixed the power of RL, giving back this weapon the dignity it deserves.

I don't get why people don't like the items placement in dm13. RA and MH were too close, that's why they modified their position. The idea that RA and MH had good placement because different height level is bs from a tactical point of view, because you could easily go from RA to MH and back, each in about 2 seconds. Now it takes a little bit more, and if your opponent have some decent armor he can give you pretty much headaches on running from one to another. It's just that the main interest zones is changed.
