Spore is now available in its "pre-loaded" form over at

EA Games.

"From Thursday 28th August, exclusively on EA Store, you will be able to pre-load Spore in your download manager, which means you do not have to wait for it to download upon release on the 5th September."

i dont know who would buy this from the eastore for £39.99, when i checked the first two game-selling websites i knew it available for £29.99... ea are clearly the devil

[edit] hmm, so does this need to be played via steam/eastore, or can you just install it standlone style and play like a normal fucking game ?
