When 2% of the players is 2 guys, it's a big deal. Keep cutting out 2% here and there, and you end up with nothing.

You're right, I did have problems with it, and I still do. Stuff like not being able to /timeout, or that timelimit is 10 and not voteable, or that picmip doesn't affect weapon model firing (picmip 5 LG).

Saying that the gameplay is there is no different than what CPM players have been telling OSP players, and what OSP players have been telling UT players, and what everyone has been telling halo players for years. It doesn't matter how trivial the problems are, people will only play what they want to play.

Haha true, but that's only because I was impatient, and didn't take the time to work things out. A few weeks ago, I actually sat down, took the time to make a custom config, tweak it to what I like, bring in all my Q3 settings, and save it. Now I join a QL server and just /exec myconfig.

I got pissed by the disgusting weapon balance as it stands now

1. Rocket splash is simply ridiculous and so is the rocket bounce. Even though I will favor keeping the rocket bounce high but having too much rocket splash degrades the game in a way I never saw it coming. You can be a very mediocre rocket user and deliver same damage as a better player with rocket by just spam. That is simply disgusting.

2. All flick rails hit, if you have a decent connection and no packetloss, just turn cg_smoothclients 1and u r golden. The game is still like vq3 but the rail is like cpm's which makes things annoying at times.

3. Last but not least, absence of either custom hud or atleast a better hud than the one they supply, come on it should not be that difficult to design a good hud.


Though I put a stop to my whining and started playing ql again, not sure how much I like it and these days dont find any reason to post at their forum either cause they are already filled with million feature requests. I hope either weapon balance would become more sensible or I will adapt to w/e stays.
