For now it's just a huge mumbo-jumbo crap from a few teams that think that they are in-control. But, they are not. Because recently team SK Gaming announced that they have Violet as a new player. How-ever he could only join when the G7 agreed on it... Hold it, wait... waaaaiiiit.. are you serious?
Who gives a shit? What if SK Gaming didn't do that and they letted him just join. Would they been kicked out from G7? Would that have any influence at all?
No, absolutely not! Because tournament organisations like WCG, ESL, GGL or ESWC wouldn't care more or less if G7 agreed with the transfer about a new player or not. He could still play for their tournament, he could still play for SK gaming. So really G7 what is the point? Ok, you could use the boycotting tactic again on all of those events, however wouldn't that be giving yourself a neck shot?
If they really want to have more influence over gaming then they need to act in a different sense. Making actually a contract to tournament organisers. Such as, we will play your tournament and won't drop out prematurely if you agree to pay us out. But they could also fill in the contract about player transfers and much more little letters that could benefit for both sides. Also it could give G7 a grow boost if minor/smaller or less known teams could join them with the same. If you have a huge database full of teams that agree on the same, then you actually have weight against something. But not like this.. this doesn't work at all. Your are only a minor pack and nobody gives a damn.. except about yourself.
Also they are mostly Counter-Strike teams or World of WarCraft teams. That doesn't represent e-Sports! It only show you have a bit more money then an other team. So again.. what is the point of all this then? You are mostly in only two kind of games. Sure, perhaps a few teams are in more then one game. How-ever you are far away from being a good representive of eSports. I mean, isn't Quake an eSport? What about Enemy Territory then? Or many more games that could qualify as one? Aren't they important enough?
Unless ofcourse I'm utterly wrong, then please tell me so. Because now it's just a huge fuzz about absolutely nothing.

The fact that they NEED to union is stupid, not the union itself.
