my aunt and uncle have various properties there, they dig the whole Americana culture thing, they run a huge american lifestyle event over here that attracts some 70k+ visitors over 4 days, not my cup of tea really :p

I would recommend Florida to anyone that wants a cheap time and enjoys theme park stuff, but I'm probably being ignorant as there is likely a ton more to do and see.

I grew up in Florida, pretty much the only state I really know. You're right, the theme parks are the main tourist attraction.

But if you get a chance to travel around next time, the only place I can't recommend enough is the Dry Tortugas. It's tough to get out there, but it is, in my opinion, the most beautiful spot in Florida.
