Just could not take it any more!
had to end it all!
After numerous blue screens and a final meltdown starting with some spyware, even though I had windows defender and one-care subscription on my windows vista, I installed fedora 10 on my desktop.
Found kind of surprising that indeed linux has come of age, last time I had linux for non-work(about 5 years ago) (in my work I am bound to use linux, thats different) purposes it was hard to even get sound out of a mp3 player without compiling sound driver for the particular motherboard. This stuff seemed to work out of the box, as I could get flashplayer for fedora x86_64., most of the internet seems visible and audible to me and heack yeah I could even yum install vlc-player.
world would have been perfect if I could play quakelive too but that doesnot seem possible as of now, dont know id will ever make it for linux or not. So at some point I might have to make it dual boot with xp / vista or virtual machines ( though dont like them much)
microsoft,
you are going down, I swear.
Edit:
could get quake 3 working in linux, using icculus ioquake3 x86_64 rpm, could play spiterbot and cpma mod. Since most cpm servers dont enforce pb, could infact play in them with ioquake3 executable instead of 1.32c. Can not get quakelive to work under firefox running under wine.
Can enter the java script display page, can even launch the game but after that wine emulated firefox just crashes. If anybody has had any success regarding that, please tell.
