The show was a little shitty, yeah, but the reason for that is that they tried to attach a story arc to the songs, which themselves are brilliant. They just don't work so well with a plot around it.

Terrible, they tried to rip off The Office's "embarrassment by association" theme and failed horribly.

Yeah cuz the office were first ever.
