Thanks to the hard work of qrealka and everyone involved in developing and testing the lastest version of CPMA is ready for release. This brings significant tweaks for the Challenge Quake gameplay along with some bug fixes and useful features for all players such as SuperHUD for coaches, no beam lightning, the return of the fast rail option for Clan Arena, armour and health voteable up to 400 for Deathmatch Arena and many more changes.
If you're referring to fastrail and the health vote on ca then he never BLOCKED them. He has stated that if fastrail can be implemented without removing some network data benefit stuff it'll be done.
In fact, the thread in which the armor and health votes were proposed for the first time should be included in the cpma docs as an example of how to request changes if you want to succeed.

fixing the bugs in the engine sound code so that it placed sounds absolutely correctly and didn't skip any caused the stairs bug to show up, but the behavior of sound on stairs etc was also incorrect, and had just been "hidden" by the other bugs until then. it was a "two wrongs make a right" kind of thing, so you'd never notice either of the bugs until one of them was fixed for different reasons.
All ammo picked up is taken into account in CQ3. So you can gain 3+7 slugs by first railgun pickup. And when you're supposed to have more weapons, the second railgun pickup gives you no more than 7 slugs.
Respawn ammo expands dropitems feature as well.
I don't like altlightning 3 with 1.44 rendering system. Is it impossible to have 4 or 5 altlightnings, i.e. one with the old system that I have used and liked for many years?
Request: cg_noAmmoChange "2" allows changing to empty weapons AND disables autoswitch when ammo runs out, like cg_switchOnEmpty "0" in QL or ui_autoswitch "2" in Q4Max.

CNQ3 only works with the CPMA mod, the CPMA mod should work with any of the standard Quake 3 source versions- quake3.exe, ioquake3.exe, cnq3.exe and the raw input versions.
whats good about it is that its community made, and they look great., theyre functional and they are one of the steps needed for a standalone version of CPMA. If you can't get used to a change like this, then you're way too picky and should go play Quake Live or baseQ3 where things are fixed in the way id software wanted them to be.
They're way better than the standard icons. The only debatable change, which you did mention is the heart in the mega being a bit cheesy, we may change that to a cross to match the other health items.
The one thing you pointed out I agree with, now I'm interested to see if you can make any other points or if it's just subjective whine. The new icons are sharper, every bit as clear in terms of giving information and look great as icons.
I wish 25 and 50 health bubbles were more distinguishable, but that's about the only thing I'd change.
Come to think of it, has the issue been addressed with simple icons not being visible where the normal ones are? (I think cpm4a RA was posted as an example a while back)
Funny thing is, I never used to notice about the health bubbles until starting to play new maps for the 2v2 cup. I can't actually decide if they are different at all or completely the same (with my config of course).
Yeah, same here. Obviously it's a problem resulting from gamma or overbrights being (much?) higher than default. On my settings I can hardly make out a difference either. Off the top of my head maybe the 50 could get a fatter cross than the 25, or something like that.
Don't know if it's worth the trouble though, as soon as you know our way around the map you know what it is anyway.

Not to steer this thread too off-topic but some of his spelling errors just made no sense, regardless that English clearly wasn't his native tongue. Take "Do wath the fuck you wana doo" for instance. Why is the 2nd "do" spelled doo? It's the same freaking word and even Germans spell identical words identically.
Also "favorite" is "favorit" in German. No idea where "faforit" came from, unless he actually pronounces "favorit" incorrectly in German.

Yeah, sometimes it's easy to think spelling mistakes like that are just a language barrier, but sometimes the answer is simple: sometimes people are just retards.
I mean he kept calling him "arquon", that's not even a real word.
New map layouts does not mean new maps. It just changes the item locations.

Seems to have been a fair bit of AI tweaking in this build which hasn't appeared on the changelog. I'm stuck without DSL atm and just went a fair few rounds with 70.rat on cpm3a; ai seems a lot more resourceful and less predictable, and doesn't spent the majority of it's time lava hoping at the bottom of the map, which always used to be a problem, so, intentional or not, nice work :p
cg_truelightning -1 is lush it has to be said, thank you for adding it.
cg_trueLightning can also be set to any negative fractional number. Like -0.5. So you can find a precious setting to play with com_blood 1 or cg_lightningImpact 1, corresponding to your current ping. I use it to get better control of 'lagHaxed' lightning.
At least that's exciting. The AI is so broken without godly aim that you can literally beat it without firing a single shot and letting it blow itself up to -5.
