And just to add something about South Africa. Yeah internet is shit, the infastructure is similar to Poland's (Actually Polands is probably better) We have a horrible power shortage at the moment, we have the largest amount of HIV infections in the world and crime is pretty much out of control.

Sounds shit... but is it?

Well, here's some good things.

- People friendly
- Everything is CHEAP
- Clubs and nightlife rocks
- You can live in a big house
- It's beautiful
- WEATHER
- True freedom and privacy.

What do I mean by that last point? Well there's no fucking camera's on every corner, there is no one listening on the phone lines, reading your emails, watching what you download. Hell you can even do whatever drugs you want, no ones going to care.

You're about two hours away from Getting Away from it all.

The UK freaks me out, every time I buy something off a website, or sign up for some new service, I really feel like I'm being watched, fuckit I AM BEING WATCHED.

Last point, chicks in Cape Town are hot.

And an engineer can earn tons of money.

The blacks aren't even a majority in the Western Cape. There are far more whites in South Africa than there were in Namibia, Zimbabwe or Kenya. About a quarter of the country is NOT black, and most of the employment and resources are provided by white people (still).

If you walk around the city centres (atleast in Cape Town) it actually seems to have about the same cultural diversity as London. Regardless of that, there is a lot of goodwill growing between the races lately, if there was going to be any trouble, it would be between the tribes (xhosa, zulu) or between the classes (black lower class vs black upper class)

I'm not worried about Zuma being in power, like the UK, it's the party that rules not the president. And I would prefer an idiot in power than someone... efficient. (Like Mugabe)

I think Zuma will get a much bigger kick out of doing things right and proving everyone wrong than messing things up. The new cabinet is very good imo, so things are already moving up from Mbeki.

Actually the electricity has stabilized. No power outages whatsoever the past few months now (might even be a year or so). Winter is coming up so we'll see.

ah, you have power outages in the us as well. last year half the state of florida was without electricity for a day. all it takes is a strong thunderstorm and it's out lol.

they say it's more secure there than in secluded shooting clubs (e.g. somewhere in the woods). And I do tend to agree with that. But they should keep those tinhgs in the safe and the key away from their kids. Which of course is difficult to do.

But no they are trying to make a law that forces fingerprint identification for the safes, which imo is the only senseful law that came out of this all.
