That being said, a few of the videos show solid evidence of cheating, far more solid than anything ever produced for sombra.

How many times have you bought a $100 mouse? It's still under warranty within 2 weeks, so unless you're just irresponsible, there is no reason not to keep it.

You only have to prove that it is more likely to have occured than to not have occured, which a credit card statement will. No store in the world would let a situation like that go to court.

Aye, I am speaking from a EU stand point (which is what the discussion was initially about). In the US the legal system is quite different, especially in civil cases. As I have not done extensive study of American law, I can not accurately say what a court there would do.

If you took it to the common law courts (non-criminal, disputes and stuff) you'd win, since they are equity based and you can essentially proove you bought it.

The EU didn't do much regarding this for the already civilized countries. They did implement some directives to give consumers an increased protection but the civilized countries (such as Sweden) already had said protection, and to a greater extent, in it's native law.

It did change things quite a bit for some eastern European countries however. And it makes things a whole lot easier for anyone who studies law, since now you at least know what the minimum law support is in the EU countries.

i know the convo was away from the point a little and i thought it was retarded myself even though it was mine, i just wanted to see his excuses... just look at them in the other thread.

I do not keep my receipts either, unless it's a present or i've bought it online. But let's put why i asked him into perspective so you can see where i was coming from;

If his mouse really was broken to a point were it still works but just not well, they my guess is that it's a broken cable. Cause with most other errors it stops working completely.
And the that cable could stay in the correct position for some time to work well again.

it's possible that the fixation of the optical sensor didn't hold. I guess it would be glue? Since it's possible to use a mouse even if the laser doesn't point exactly straight down (at least mine here at work does :P), this could actually be true. And a loose sensor would move and make it difficult to aim.

The problem with SyncError joining the discussion, the way i see it, that no good can come from his input. Its already shown that a lot of people directly adresses how he failed to see someone else that in fact did cheat, and it kind of makes him look bad if he either insinuates that yuka in fact did cheat, that yuka did not cheat, or does not insinuate anything at all which is pretty much what he tried to do, especially in a case like this where its hard to know. I mean, theres already 500+ comments, i don't see what he could contribute with that other experts could not? It's nice that he did take a look, and it shows that he cares and that he might have a valid interest in trying to make Quake Live a bad place to be for cheaters. Guess there was a good thing that could come from his input anyways :p

Losing to them on LAN would just remove the skepticism, because people are going to pay attention to how he loses (and, considering how many hours a day some of these people watch demos, they should be able to judge that at least). This could probably be spotted if spectated, some of the aiming for rockets looks weird and the lg also. Notice how the aim takes a quick snap at 3:26-28, with the user looking oblivious and trying to continue shooting lg to hide it. Also the last lg fight, killing the first one and going smoothly over to the second target only to look totally out of control as soon as the second guy is dead.
