The new Defrag movie by KOS,
feel, is out now. Featuring w3sp only, all the runs (cpm and vq3) are world records. It is meant to be the sequel to
w3sp strafes, but he merely changed the name.
Creator: KOS
Game: Quake 3 Arena
Type: Trick-Stunt
Length: 15m21s
Size: 1.06 GB
Resolution: 1440x900
Codec: x264/XviD
You could call it the sequel to "w3sp strafes", but as you can see the name changed, so did the content and the main idea of showing it off.
Again all runs are world records with the difference, that you'll now get some weapon runs as well. Both; VQ3 and CPM physics.
Most of the runs are recorded online.
Two maps from w3sp strafes will appear again, but as you may have guessed, improved heavily.
w3sp wanted this one to be more dynamic and alive compared to the previous one, which makes also sense when watching faster weapon runs.
Also he asked for even more smoothness...
The focus of attention on getting the content underlined remained the same.
Last but not least, worth to be mentioned, is the outro run, which is the sickest demo I've personally ever seen.
(Clue: It's a RA-map again. Which one, you gotta see yourself.)
Ok, many changes here.
- No motion blur.
Don't get me wrong, I like it very much, but it's still more an effect on itself rather than a real enchancement.
I wanted the the look to be as close as possible to the real in-game one.
Quake is just not motion blurred when you play it.
- 50 fps.
Tried dozens of different fps settings, resampling settings, pulldown settings and ended up with clean double PAL anyway.
It just looks rich and smooth.
- No DOF / Grain:
Because both of them became the new Lens-Flair : P
- 8:5 HD:
Most of the people got a widescreen monitor and I wanted this one to be full-screen.
If you are going to watch this on a 16:9 TV, the crop or aspect ratio squish will be just subtle.
MUSIC:
Amon Tobin, Autechre, Boards of Canada, Self Oscillate and an epic track by Soundhacker.
