I just thought I'd check the sign-ups of the GotFrag/MLG/GameBattles QuakeLive tournaments today to see how they're doing (old news). I was really curious about that cup for 2 reasons: for it seemed to be an ambitious online project and for the whine around the sign up fees / the cashprize.
Remember the stuff was planned for 128 duelers and 64 CA teams in a country without any solid online community and where we haven't never heard about big online quake tournaments since... well, maybe since the 2v2 QC3 cup which ended in a quite a joke when it came to hand the prizes to the winners (old drama is always good drama).
So back to fresh news, the sign-ups are closing tomorrow and so far only 6 duelers and 1 CA clan are in. It came to my mind that, as the GotfFag guys just censored comments in their announcement, the admins must have censored some subscriptions to end up with such a small amount of players. Or maybe I'm just misguided and they're not really displaying all the sign-ups from these pages.
How come we don't see more cool stuff like the Alienware Arena thing from North America?
