it might feel different b/c ql raises the fov higher if you're on a widescreen so you have to use something like this to find a comparable value

wait a second... it's telling me to change my fov from 100 to 116 when going to 16:9. surely this isn't right? :)

quakelive automatically increases fov. q3 doesnt.

if you want ql to be the same as q3, you need to use a lower value in ql.

hint: for 16:9, cg_fov 100 in q3 is the same as cg_fov 83.58 in ql

Please, for 16:9 if you have in q3, for example, 110 fov and sensitivity 4, how do you scale the sensitivity to feel the same in ql?
Do you have to scale the acceleration also???

Working in degrees:

(16/9) / (4/3) = 4/3
So for 16/9 aspect ratio images width is 4/3 bigger than height with regard to 4/3 aspect ratio.

Then:
tan(100/2) = 4/3 * tan(angle/2)

angle = 2 * atan(3/4 * tan(100/2)) = 83.58



In the case of 16:9 q3 110 fov, sensitivity is the same than in ql, but to takesame feeling (same horizontal fov) fov should be:

angle = 2 * atan(3/4 * tan(110/2)) = 93.93


In my case i have 16:10 aspect ratio, and ql fov results 100 to get same horizontal fov than 100 fov q3.
