Italy didn't play very well but at least they were constantly attacking which is an improvement (they were also constantly attacking vs Paraguay). New Zealand were boring as hell and had almost all their players defending.
fuck italy. seriously. fuck them! after the first few minutes espn said:
"Cannavaro goes down clutching his face, despite rory fallons elbow being nowhere near it".
then later in the game:"criscito is the latest player to go down in an attempt to get rory fallon sent off. Its not impressive at all."
what a bunch of fucking divers. they'd win every medal at the summer olympics. amazing how a video that's six years old now is still so true:
I don't have a problem with much of the play acting, it's often after a genuine foul and just drawing attention to it, if the referees could use video technology there wouldn't be as much need to play act.
You see referees ignore bad challenges and violent conduct all the time because they didn't quite see it and the players didn't dive and roll about.
the playacting is a disgrace tbh, although i do understand that it sometimes calls fouls to attention (when one has been committed which u honestly dont know anymore).
i find the playacting and diving the biggest turn off about football, even when a player from my team does it and gets a freekick or penalty or whatever, i just feel disgusted.
If you'd paid attention you'd have seen he was no longer applying pressure on the ground with his legs. I'm all for criticizing players who dive but in this case he was really clipped.
