It appears NA doesn't get that channel. Still very very interesting they went that route (since a few months ago Carmac said putting e-sports on TV would be the same as yelling in the woods, no one will hear you).
Are you serious? They broadcast all sorts of crap to fill up time. A couple weeks ago I watched a rock paper scissors tournament from 2007, how can they not have a place for SC2 on Eurosport1?
+ Eurosport2 is a channel for new and alternative sports like you said yourself but gaming is already in the midst of our soceity it's not like Lacrosse in Europe. I wouldn't be surprised to see this on the main channel. SC2 is definitely able to get some good ratings in Europe.
I dunno, we get the British ones. They just show terribly boring sports for my taste like swimming, volleyball, tennis, boccia?! And when they do show interesting sports like football it's always terribly obscure events. I pay for an Icelandic one that airs all the best leagues from football/basketball/golf/driving :P
I probably have different taste in sports then :) not suprising since I was a competitive swimmer for 10 years.
I don't even like football but I guess they won't show the big events because the broadcast license fees are astronomical and most privately run channels can't afford them, they still have to broadcast football though because the interest is way too high to neglect it. At least they have the license for the handball champions league :)
I had the HD package for a big pay-TV channel in germany but all they showed on the HD channel was golf, football, formula1 and tennis and tons of reruns inbetween seasons and from monday - friday. no icehockey, basketball etc. they show these on the non-HD channels.
