I think most of us can afford to pay, but I just can't do it. The game and website lack so many features. We have taken steps backwards and to get to square one we are gonna have to start paying. It just rubs me the wrong way.

They say that in order to get new maps/features there has to be some sort of payment. I will gladly pay and play once NEW MAPS and NEW FEATURES pop up.

edit: and by new maps i dont mean rehashes/maps that were in earlier games.

++ If id has actually paid threewave/freezetag guy + other mappers off with their own money for it to become their own, then i guess holding maps hostage is kind of allowed, since it is now their property.

I'd like to try the new maps and "features" before having to pay for it. At the very least they should give us some time to test everything (Maybe a month free to begin with?) before I could even think of paying for it.

That's actually a pretty cool idea. They could also do something like steam does where they let you play a mainly MP game for free for a weekend. id could just let everyone have a Premium account for a weekend or something.

Just deleted my account. Hated the web-based / subscription revenue model. I am a purist and would rather pay upfront instead of of being nagged all the time... especially when it involves recycled product.

I hate how most games today in order to be able to play you must first "authorize your installation" online and create some kind of account for their (soon to be dead) web-service. This usually means they offer a Super-VIP-Premium subscription and DLC content in a shape of a pink dildo.

after checking it out i'm definately considering a premium subscription, it might be flawed and really done in a really poor way so far, but it aint much money and its nice to have a game you can play when you have those really bored moments
plus i sort of like the new interface, it's cute.

only thing bothering me is the idea of the split community we're going to have, as even if you get premium yourself, there will be alot of people you won't be able to play on most maps thats worth playing, hopefully they'll end this nonsense though.

this netbook plays ql ok, just need to get a mouse and a long network cable. had a few games with this tiny ms mouse i have and wireless 10 foot away and it gets laggy as fuck when people are spamming in ca. not tried duel yet.

not completly quit, playing xbox live haha but for the price i may as well get premium so not limited the odd time i do want a game. and to be honest whenever i watch a tournament stream i really want to have a game after

i just checked the update a little and i think it's pretty ok. pricing for premium is ok as well i guess. tho i won't buy it. i only play periodically. and i don't see the point of paying a whole year up front.definitely lacks the monthly subscription option. or an option to simply buy gametime.

plus, i also think that the different available maps are going to split the community really bad. i already see myself getting totally pissed because every second mapvote i can look for a new server to play on.

Standard accounts can't join private servers at all (unless invited by PRo account user) where new maps are, so no worries about being kicked from server.

just bought premium. i like some of the new maps such as 'battleforged' and 'dreadfull place' and the inclusion of 'phrantic' 'aerowalk' 'cpm4' and ospdm5'

the only niggle i have at the moment is if trying to join a friend on your friends list and they have created the server you cant join, unless they invite you.

well they could create a server with pass and then only give you the pass, allowing you to join from the friends list. creating servers is either open to all with or w/o pass or invite only, which is what you describe.

edit: obviously paying. i like the ability to find players with matched skill and then have a private server to play as much as you want without being interrupted or dealing with whiners.
