26 actually, yes I do live at home still.. I could easily move out with my friends (no gf..) but I couldn't live with them for more than 2 weeks. Moving out on my own is the only viable solution and is gonna cost alot more.. plus I only really live in one place and well, it's kinda expensive.

I suggest a different approach.

If he starts to yell at you just do the "zidane" kick him in the balls and say "talk to the hand". After that tell him that you are sick of this shitty job and you are going to quit. If you have done this successfully you advice him to yell at his wife because she is a fucking whore who had a threesome with you and her daughter last night and then walk off :=)

next times something like that happens:

knock the receiver on the table once or twice, mutter something like "crappy phone" and hang up. Most people have calmed down when they call again ;)



You should definately go to work, if he is still in that mood and can't be reasoned with you should walk out.

Mistakes happen and every boss should know it. So, there is a good chance he was "just" yelling at you to give you a clear message: Don't ever make that mistake again. My superior is like that, he is very, very good and making people feel crap about their mistake. Then calls you the next day and is the friendliest guy, adressing you with the usual "honey" or "bunny" (yeah he is a fun guy). And you make damn sure you never repeat that mistake.

Also, good superiors want to know if their people really feel guilty about their mistakes, cause that means you care about your tasks! That's especially important if you work on your own, most of the time!

tl;dr:

Go to work tomorrow, apologize for the mistake right away, and say you really regret it and find out how your boss reacts. If your boss is more calm then and can tell you feel guilty it should be fine.
If he is still yelling, consider to quit.

My boss drove over from Belgium to see some companies I booked meetings with..

Today he left Belgium and drove 400miles to Oxford, only to find out the address I given him was wrong (old database..) and the meeting was in Slough.

I foresaw this issue on Friday though so I rang all the companies and checked their addresses. Somehow I either missed this company or some at the company lied. I think it was probably me missing the company.

He has several more meetings over the coming week, I'm anticipating another address cock up :|

It was a pretty dumb mistake, one that I knew could happen.. which is why I rang all the companies the week before to confirm addresses. The one I got wrong must of been engaged when I rang and I must of forgot to go back to it.

Also, he didn't just drive 400 miles to go see this one customer... he took the scenic route to visit this customer on his way to the UK office (where I work). He also had several other meetings which went fine.

My advice:

As Becks suggested, apologise for the cock-up(s) but more importantly tell him what you will do to ensure it does not happen again.

If the address thing was down to an old database tell him that you are double checking the database to make sure everything is up to date.

if he still shouts at you after you apologised and told him how you were going to avoid this happening again, you have every right to quit.

I know it is difficult if you don't have something else to go to but you also need to consider quality of life. Working for a twat will start impacting your moods, your motivation and things can start go downhill from there. Been there.

Quitting a shitty job feels liberating and something else always turns up - usually for the better.
