The lexer one is good too, but this is the $$$. These frags are only from a few games vs QPO. And he is on OSP mod +50 ms built in lag.

Gopher was the main nigga for IC. Before fox or his brother(toxjq) took over- but played at the same time as them, but just dominated everyone.

Back in the old days Gopher was a very very good TDM player for sure. He is not as accomplished as fox or tox today. But he was definitely a very good TDM player during his time.

i've seen fraged by gopher..if the ting with 50+ ms input lag is true then he's sure crazy:D railing people allover the place=)

I wanted to [+] u, but it will looks lame, cos u said I'm good tdm'er. I just want to say that Jibo and Cooller was 2nd best team in 2v2 q3 osp, after fox and tox. I think in the past Jibo and Cooller where better pair then me and Cooller now but:

1st We enjoy playing with each other, cos we are friends, and if we will win 1st place, we will be really happy, cos it will be huge.
2nd We do good, even if I'm not that good like: krysa, noctis, zyv, purri, linkin etc, still I'm div1 TDM player.
3rd We played in 3 2v2 cups, and 3 times we place 2nd , I think it's says we have some stability, that means we have class too.
4th I never overrate myself, I know my real skill, and I'm sure I'm not that weak, like some nonames thinks/says.
5th zyv + noctis is a gr8 pair, I think they can be compared to fox+tox in osp times. Don't u forget that zyv + labur won fox+tox in osp? Zyv is my fav. quake player, I think he is underrated, cos he is shy and never played duels.

Nope, Jibo was better than Cooller in my eyes. I watched tons of Cooller - Jibo team games (2v2, 4v4) and Jibo was the man to watch in the end.

Yeah cos I said to draven, that he should seed teams based on the past cups, not based on some randomes opinions from ESR. As u can see, team that we won in 1/2, won 3rd place match, right? So we prolly had stronger team in 1/2 then noctis and zyv had.

noctis and zyv will ofc take first place but there is alot of great teams in there.

One thing that sometimes bothers me on the accompanying commentary (not only on your stream): sometimes the commentators talk about actions that are not actually shown on the stream. e.g. the stream shows player A while commentators talk about Player B. "what a nice rail by player B" while Player A is shown doing nothing.

but no point really to keep playing if its not close at all for 20 god damn minutes...people should simply concede if they cant win any more, especially if its bo1, instead they idle around the map and wait till the time runs out o_O

did you ever question that attitude? this is like a dogma in the quake community but i dont think it is the way to go in all satiations (and look at the rts communities where it is disrespectful to keep someone longer in the game than "needed")

although it may be pain for spectator to watch 20 mins of rape, looking at the gaming side of it, I think leagues/cups should prohibit quitting in the middle of the match.

When players join the cup/league they agree to play by certain rules and with certain dignity and and to try and act as professional as they can, and it's not up to them (or shouldn't be) to just 'quit' when they feel like it. If u joined the cup, you will finish it properly. At least, that's my opinion.

Ofc it's not an easy decision (and questionably the right one) and that's why there is still no definite rule of any kind that supports it, but I don't agree with the statement: 'people should simply concede if they cant win any more'. In that case, if u can't finish your official match that you started, then don't play it in the first place. Simple as that.

But I agree watching rape games is no fun at all.

In RTS games such as various Starcrafts, you are supposed to quit as soon as you realize you have no real way of winning anymore, and not drag out the game to the last possible second 'ZOMG I CAN CUMBACK IF HE STOPS MOVING AND SHOOTING!'.

This is basically the norm in every league, and those leagues have several times more prize money and spectators than QL.

the main point imo is that quake is a game where you have a timelimit involved unlike any rts or board games like chess or go. and this is probably the origin of their respective moral code (insulting to stay in the game without having a chance in rts vs. insulting to leave before the time expires in quake).

regardless of the genre leaving early/conceding does have a significant impact on the players psyche IF THERE ARE MORE MAPS TO PLAY. as the losing player may "play it out" and just rush in until he brakes control to gain some confidence back for the next map or decides to concede as quickly as he realises he just gets demolished and wants to get it out of his mind asap and focus on the next map.

however, if there are no more maps to play this is simply a waste of time to all involved parties. its boring for the dominating player, its annoying for the dominated player and it definitely is boring and annoying for the spectators.

taking that first round match of front as an example here where cooller probably went for smokes 10 minutes into the game (good choice) with the others idling/chatting its a waste of time, period. thats what it is and nothing else for both players and spectators.

you cant possible force a player to play well you could force him to run around for the principle-nerds sake, but thats about it.

you have to distinguish between rage quitting (bm) and conceding. this is no random pub game where your opponent just leaves after you got the first frag...

The question is, why do you think playing full time should be included in those "certain rules" you talk about?
Players quit not because they can't or don't want to finish game, but because they lost. They just follow intuitive idea of what winning conditions are, and unfortunately the way of formalizing that idea using countdown timer is imperfect.

Therefore I think matches should not be stopped in the middle, but rather played till the end, to allow those cases I just mentioned, cause not always game is as finished as it seems.

Keep in mind I'm not talking only about 2v2 but the quake gaming in general.

Like I said, it's my opinion and I'm not fond of quitting.

There is no timelimit in SC/SC2/War3.. that's a huge difference to me.
