Scheduled: 12:00 CDT, 11 September 2010 to 20:30 CDT, 12 September 2010 Schedule: Passed
We are here at the World Cyber Games 2010 US Finals at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, where qualifiers will take place in Starcraft 1, Counter-Strike 1.6, Tekken 6, Warcraft 3 and more as entrance to the WCG Grand Finals later this month at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This will presumably be the final year of action in the original Starcraft before moving on to Starcraft 2 next year. Players and teams participating include Evil Geniuses (CS), WinOut.net feat. Rambo (CS), Geoff "EG.iNcontroL" Robinson (SC), Kelby "EG.iNkA" Williams (SC), Phil "LongWalk" Crawford (WC3), Reepal "Rip" Parbhoo (T6) and more.
The entire event will be streamed by the Live On Three crew of Marcus "djWHEAT" Graham, Rod "Slasher" Breslau and Scott "SirScoots" Smith. Special guests to help commentate throughout the weekend include Sean "Day9" Plott, Bruce Rivington, Adande "sWooZie" Thorne and Mark "MarkMan" Julio. All the action can be watched live on djWHEAT.tv and WCG Live.

Unfortunately, I watched part of the program. Within about 5 minutes, wheat used the word 'conservative' twice. That has to be the most over-used word in sports commentary. You'd think these people never learned how to use a thesaurus. I'll give you guys a hint.... www.thesaurus.com.
More unfortunate though, is that the part I caught was CS. Man that game is low. Everything about it is cheap and flimsy.
I'm working with LiveOnThree here in LA this weekend. Fun event, lots of cool people here :)
We're getting day9 to drive into town today to do a SC2 exhibition broadcast w/ the likes of Machine and iNcontrol. He'll also be on the mic for Brood War commentary, so even if you're a Quake head you might be entertained by djWHEAT and day9 sitting side-by-side.

sticky? seriously slasher?
i know you wanna promote this, but esr doesnt care and its kinda invasive (again) as only the main quake events of the year get sticked
I did the same thing during MLG Raleigh, stickied until the event is over each day. And - I'm talking to people about adding QL next year as much as humanly possible :P
Gonna try not to spam everyone following @LiveOnThree with tons of updates.
If you want more consistent updates throughout the day with info on each match and coverage as they happen, feel free to follow me on Twitter, I'll do my best :).
