I have to disagree.
Playing on ping 90 and higher is very hard. It's not impossible, but to say that the person with 120 ping has an, I emphasize, advantage, is downright wrong.

Lets say the aim of both players is fucked from the situation with the ping. Now, tell me who rely more on aim from both(and have better aim overall)? Yap, it's k1llsen, so nerfing k1llsen lg and rail is bad for him(especially vs +back player, where rail is needed), from other hand kook rely more on +back,+back,rockets(and besides, for +backer isn't that important to hit the rail when he stays on tele.... from other hand it's good for him to escape without being hit all the time).

dunno if he was warping for killsen. and ofc with that ping you also need a bit of luck for your aim with shaft and rail for example, but i am not saying that he has no aim and just accidentally hit shots. thats another case.

would say its basicaly very fast reactiontime by him, very good knowledge where opponent is, where to expect and literally nearly never exposing himself to killsens aim when not having advantage.

i guess in 8/10 games killsen would win (with that ping situation) but thats quake, no matter how good you are there is always a slight chance to lose.

He was surprised multiple times, Killsen came behind him a couple times. He played nervously and frantically, but he hit critical rails and a lot of successful nadespam. A LOT of nadespam when i think about it :)

no, he never really got surprised. If he wanted to pretend it was legit, he'd have done exactly that kind of game.

You need to see it another way round: he made some crazy moves to crazy areas where NONE would ever go knowing that there's a very high probability that the enemy is gonna rape you if you do that.

Yet he moved as if he was sure he wouldnt get caught...

EDIT: also he had a much more weird game vs me in terms of rail-hits and full face rocket hits. Must be the stream-effect...

I just watched the demo it looked legit to me.

This is just another boring ztn match. Once k1llsen ties the game up at 3-3 he just plays a game of "capture the power ups" and plays a long range rail gun game and hardly pushes pavel at all. Absolutely no urgency from him, feels like a practise game.

Even if he knew he was being streamed and scanned, that really kinda means he must have not been using them right? I mean watching the demo it looks fairly legit and as if he's not doing anything dodgy. Stands to reason that therefore he beat k1llsen legit (regardless of whether or not you thought he was cheating in an aerowalk game)

If I ever used a wallhack (which obviously I wouldn't) I get the feeling I'd probably make it fucking obvious and trace everyone through walls. The prediction shots pavel went for in the ZTN demo had no sense of tracing at all and when he was shooting at exits of teleporters etc he couldn't see the entrance or where k1llsen was in the first place, so it was just prediction work. You could put forward the argument that he was using cheats and was pretending to not be doing it by purposefully looking the wrong place and trying to look surprised every so often, but that's a bit too much effort for nothing and just a bit silly really

8:25 kilsen surprises pavel with LG on ledge...5:15 rocket from pavel is the only remotely dodgy shot...everything else legit. Counted two crazy rails, but two don't make a cheat.

: very aggressive defense for much of the middle match, just tons of nades hitting -- look, this is a common hpb strat -- go completely +back, taking minimal damage while picking up any avail pwrups, bleed down the time and then pick an opportunity to deliver the winning frag.

Havnt watched this demo yet but i've played against pavel_/kook in tdm 2v2/4v4 a lot of times and never suspected any cheats.
He played for a long time with that ping and he's probably used to it.

Reminds me of the madix post everyone jumped on about the possibility of beating cypher.

if someone like cypher played this cup under a fakenick like kook and raped strenx, killsen, etc, you think noone would accuse him of cheating? ppl ALWAYS get surprised and start whining/accusing/flaming when some unknown rapes pros.

If in the beginning of the match you start thinking someone cheats(just because he's random noname, but pwning you) you will always be 100% sure by the end of it that he rly did. No matter how he played, there will always be moments which look obvious.
Also im pretty sure you neither killsen werent really concentrated playing him being sure you'll win in the end. So in the end it's pretty much underestimation + undeserved accusing which made both of you lose.

As I said this demo doesnt show much more than a possible well-disguised wallhack. But my game vs pavel which wasnt followed/streamed (afaik) was of another caliber aimwise and anticipation wise...

its definatly hax:) i played the guy .. and i can confirm he is using wallhack .. believe me, .. he is good tough, very good @ playing with it and using it.. even hack dont help you with such ping..

its ip/kook, the guy pwnz pros with 100 ping.. yeh he lags yeh he is hard to hit, but still,.. dont explain the knowledge he has of your position, also the shots he hit.. Its impossible to hit those shots.. i even tried with 80ping is close to unplayable

Sure he has high ping he plays defensive, but still.. try it yourself.. he might be used to ping, but not so much that he beat k1llsen with 100 vs 20 ping..

He is probably using aimbot aswell, been recording his demos from public yesterday, and i saw he is aiming trough walls, his mouse jumps alot when he uses lg.. his aim is bad, but when he needs he hits the shots.. specially the rockets..with good aimbot it has lag compensation aswell,.. and rocket is less ping depended weapon

anyway i dont mind :) he is still bad even with hacks

Yep, 120 pinging no-namers beating dem0n and k1llsen is totally yawn-worthy alltimes.

/haven't watched the demo yet, but sheesh, it's still enough to raise an eyebrow here or there, even if the guy is legit.

How many of you lamers were talking about k1llsen being the next big thing? Are any of you really that unsurprised that killsen and dem0n are losing to some random with 120 ping?
To me, it's worthwhile to look into it. Sure, maybe it is legit, but I think that'd make him hands down the best quake player to touch a mouse/keyboard and rapha, cypher and cooller should just give up now and uninstall.

only thing I found kinda weird in the demo, that he had sorta gut feeling about where k1llsen would not be at, especially when he was below 80 hp. He would venture out in areas freely where most players would be more cautious, but this guy clearly has great dodging and railing skills. Even with all that k1llsen should have won, if he did not walk into grenade spam or self rocketed himself to fuck up a chase etc.

Pavel has no movement and no aim. He thinks he is Cypher with his fucking 360�. I laughed so much which situations he used to do a 360� :D

Both on low ping, k1llsen will win EVERY game. I know how hard it is to make damage on a warping high pinger.

So biased.. for the record, high ping doesn't equal warp, I couldn't see pavel remotely warping on the VOD.

And as noctis said, his movements were pretty solid, you are just raging that your idol lost.

Imo, pavel_ is not so bad.

Just an example (russians players only):

421 vs cooller (421 won (!) 15 to 9 )

Dont know where to start even.

So if 421 wins vs cooller and then pavel_ beats this guy 421.. So then this means that he is good? ROFL?! How is that even close to beeing connected itself? He can cheat and win that game vs 421.. its very simple... that doesent come close to justify his play.. so what i beaten that 421 guy like 30-0.. he is even a tdm player.

Half of you nabs here saying its easy i saw this guy playin with that ping with that stuff bla bla bla. Dudes dont say that shit when you whine with your 40pings saying lag. Have you ever tried playing with such ping? The shots have an actuall delay.. which makes it close to impossible to hit anything.

Half other players who got called cheaters didnt come close to looking as suspicious as this, and yet you bunch of pricks, believe this guy is actually good.

Afterall i really dont care...its just quakelive game, there is thousand of hackers.. you guys will never know ... some of them you will say are not and some of them you will say are.. on the end, there will still be some that you will never find out.

I googled a little for the sake of guys who were wondering about cheats and out of great boredom. =) Adding to the drama with the references to official events!

Asus Spring 2010 Online standings:

1. mousesports|Cooller
2. AgentJkezooR
3. F05|kook

Then he went to Asus LAN in Spring, no cheat suspicions came up, and you can't bring cheats to LAN, can you? Unfortunately I can't find the brackets with all the scores, but afaik he was in the group with Amai and Jibo. All I managed to google up is a page that mentions that kook lost dm6 to Amai with the score 5:15. Not something truly great to go by, and it's dm6, but oh well... =) I've got bad memory, but I think there was a tie in that group between kook and either Jibo or Amai. And they either counted frags to resolve it or something like that, which got him booted.

No kook's demos from that event, but here's Amai's demopack with the abovementioned dm6 game. There are 3 of them, actually, so maybe it's the same match, I don't know coz I didn't watch:
