The double stair jump are so hard to do (like his dismembrement RG jump) , kinda look like random imo

I played few duels on the edge in Q3 and it never felt close to q2's awesomeness of the map. It was (for me) too scaled, kinda felt too small overall (compared to q2's) and it wasn't as exciting as well. Didn't really suit Q3's gamestyle imo. And I don't think it would work in QL as a serious competitive map.

Q2's chaingun vs QL's LG brings huge difference to the map gameplay. Of course you could use QL's CG, because actually now we have the right weapon in the game but it's poop :c

It would need tweaking anyway. In q2 in most games it's just sitting (defending) in main room most of the time due to item placement / advantageous position.

By that little movement change you wouldn't have as many tricks / useful jumps as in q2 anyway. It's just impossible, q2 movment is just superb in that regard.

That's why the only good q2dm1 remake for q3 is ospdm1. All the other ones have scaling issues.

Ofc it can be perfected with some minor tweaks so it can be played exactly how its gameplay developed in q2, for example adding a bump where the hyperblaster was so it's easier to reach green armor (that comes from catodm1) and removing the new big entrance at mega (if anyone asks I'll explain it later with screenshots), but still is the best conversion by far and it won't be topped by any new projects.

edit: also you are right about LG in that map. It's way too powerful but the same happened in q2 with the chaingun, even with the 100dmg railgun

cos its not real double jumps, double jump = height boost while chain is a speed boost if i understand correctly

are you refering to ut2k3 double jumps or cpm double jumps? :DDD

i don't think this will add too many useful jumps to the game until they tweak it more, but awesome to finally see some shit like this

No. He jumped from shards through a black hole. Ended up on some bull shit map with teleporter, grabbed all the items, teleported back. Got the telefrag. It was pretty interesting.

i would have prefered CPM-style doublejumps: a 400 ms timewindow after the first jump to perform a 2nd jump for djump effect, that allows you to change direction @ 2nd jump. It's a cleaner system etc. Though this doesnt look bad.

The boring movement was my biggest yawn-inducer in QL. This, to me at least, is a huge step forward.

i tried chain jump and it's very very hard, the only one i can do easily is the one on Trinity, and sometimes i success to do the one on Asylum, others are just impossible for me :/
