He will show up. And I even saw him taking away a map from Cooller -> online with a ping of 100. He is actually not that bad. But no chance imo to get out of that group :/
i didnt say anything about it... i said you'll know what he gets cos hes from spain aswell..........................................................................
noctis is not so good currently, is he? DaHang should beat him. avek usually wins against cooller. though i would go with cooller too this time. stermy>voo obviously. k1llsen probably will own spart1e due to spart1e's bad shape.
and I think k1llsen wont reach even top3.
you initally made it sound like reaching top3 at dreamhack is a walk in the park for anyone half decent... you have to consider that with killsen not being a top seed he'll already have a hard time in the first round of the playoffs.
i'm not saying he'll win dh, just that i dislike the apparent killsen hate on esr :) just look at the recent demos vs avek, the guy is a beast!
if he doesn't win his group (as in: beats cypher) he's almost guaranteed to meet cooller next. i'd argue that there are easier roads to the final then getting cypher in groups and cooller in playoffs first round!?
edit: looking at the qf setup he'd probably have to play cypher in groups/ cooller in qf/ avek in semis/ rapha in finals to win dh.
Also, if k1llsen would be in the top seeds either rapha/cooller/cypher/av3k would be a high seed, so basically he'd end up having someone in his group he definitely can lose to either way except maybe if he drew dahang.
yeah it will happen on thursday. I'm not the one posting the infos about it though.
I think most of the infos are already up, just look for the beat it news-item here on esr.
i have to drop some tears, because k1llsen has the only grp with 2 players who accomplished top in ql.
big joke, since strenx didnt accomplish anything on lan, spartie should be in his grp next to av3k.
btw lol @ dahang/rapha in grp stages. i really cant stand that duel anymore.
if guard kicks coollers ass in grp stages, ill transfer 200 euros to his bank account.
It's not about winning one lan, it is about winning the most recent lan and performing the best of all players online most recently. Past performances are pretty irrelevant.
He didnt even attend quakecon. Online is nothing. Still 1 LAN is not enough even the recent one. 1 more taken and I wont argue with you. And your flag explains your treatment
OK how many guys won a international lan tournament this year huh? Cypher, rapha, k1llsen and av3k if I'm not wrong. So yeah winning a tournament were rapha is there is pretty good ;)
Yeah it doesn't ;) I agree with the seeding I just think no one would blame them if they would change avek with k1llsen and spartie with dahang. K1llsen beat avek twice both on lan and online lately and spartie had better results at gamescom and quakecon than dahang (could be wrong?). Nonetheless imo the seedings are ok.
Cypher will get Rapha again and he will lose..AGAIN! Guard will own Cooller hopefully. Sry cooller but someone just has to shut that big mouth of yours. Av3k vs Rapha final since cypher cant handle the pressure vs rapha and av3k won't really have any trouble(Cooller will be mindfucked 'cuz of Guard pownage):P:P:P..GG's rapha.=)
don't sell yourself so short. You've got the glow my friend. I've seen it in unkind right before he went to wcg and ive seen it in rapha when he was training duel vs scrubs late 2007. All you need is a solid +back when you cant do anything, use ROCKETS, dont fuck around with LG/rail when trying +back like ive been seeing in your games
These groups are fucking INSANE SON. Gonna see some sick shit early on, im going to spray so hard i'll turn to fucking dust from losing so much fluids.
well, make it a 2v2 tdm tourney on quake 3 and i think they would've gone :D afaik tox hates QL... not that it wasn't obvious else he'd probably be sweeping more tourney cash
true, generally, but stermy is one of the very, very few with toxjq'esque (in his prime) aim that can hit that kind of accuracy against even top tier players. some random with 70% accuracy means nothing, but stermy's aim is terrifying.
Im kinda tired of rooting for cooller when he fails when it's most important, so this time I will root for stermy and Vo0 in that group. But if cooller goes thru it will be satisfaction as well :)

I don't get 2 things. Shouldn't Spart1e be in the high seed instead of strenx/stermy or something? I think Spart1e have had better results... or maybe i'm wrong?
And 1 more thing, 2 players from the same country shouldn't be in the same group. But that's what I think.
AFAIK you're wrong about spart1e he hasn't performed very well after gamescom 2009.
he was eliminated in groupstage of IEM european championship, strenx/stermy both went through to the playoffs. strenx finished higher than spart1e at dreamhack summer, stermy finished higher than spart1e at quakecon etc. it's totally justified to put him in mid seeds.
not so much placements but appearances I guess, up until now guard hasn't really proven himself to be as good on lan as he is online.
also, I don't really know how far guard got in IEM 4 but noctis went to the european championships + guard was eliminated in groupstages at dreamhack summer 2010 while noctis went through to the playoffs.
hehe well u are right..
i just wanted to troll noctis because i want him to finally prove what he can do!! in fact if you look at ql duel last year guard surely has done more than noctis, even if it was online
guys, why I get hyped? I am not comparable with noctis in lan for sure. Seeds are perfect. Every player belongs in good seed group.
With lan presure (bad sound, LCD) I drop lot of my conficence , what I got in home and in Qauke, even LITTLE MEAN MUCH!
Before last DH I was playing good online too, but I didn't pass groups (I had close games to skilled players and won dem0n). So in this group I think I will have 3 losses. Still it's fun and I don't care.
If you follow it closely then the best gamer ever is a guy who won a million dollars cash playing MLG. Then comes sc players, some random games (hl2dm and lots of other mini contests), cs, etc.
the other thing is cpl didn't pay those prizes, so in this criteria it just doesn't count and voo falls behind to even cooller.
obv this is not a serious post.
also you can say thresh is the very best, which coincidentally happen to be true both in money and skills, while developing and promoting fast paced fps games..
In 2005, Kaasjager competed in the 2005 CPL World Tour, in which he won at five out of nine stops and earned $223,000. Kaasjager was named the Most Valuable Player of the tour. Overall, Kaasjager won over $250,000 in prize money at professional Painkiller tournaments, more than any other player.
CANT WAIT for this. groups A & B look fierce tough. looking out for k1llsen to suprise more people :) i can see 2 of the high seeds deffo getting to the semi finals
Fazz was the better player for a long time but guard has been stepping it up, and bar some very recent results (and they even might be in Guard's favor, I don't know) I'd say he's the stronger player.
Will probably just be more of the same. Dahang trying to shove lightning and rail down everyone's throat while losing every rocket fight possible. I much prefer to watch a more balanced or "complete" player like Cypher for example.
I'm so happy for Guard. Even if his chances of trouncing anyone in that group are somewhat slim coz of lack of experience, I'd still want to see him vs. cooller on LAN.
ty, at least you sound realistic :) I can give close games (I hope so), but pass group is like win top3 :D
ofcors much will depend how I will feel pc /sound/ stamina.
Fox didn't have the motivation? You see that id, that's what you're doing to this game. Killing it with every disappointing update. How did you get the initial Quake Live system so right, and everything post-beta so wrong?
I see your point, but that would be a bit ambigious imo.
The fatality example comes to mind, if you would seed by previous achivements he would probably be top seed in this, but would it be right to do so considering current skill levels? doubtful.
Not sure why people are bitching over p0ni (or any relatively new player). He won the qualifier, he deserves to come and play. Bashing him because he's not cooller or rapha isn't really the smartest thing to do.
Surely the chances to win are thin, but give these people some motivation.
god i hate you people
