These past days were really exciting for Quake Live. A topic that recurred often in the comments was the casters; who is good, who is bad, why is he bad and not 2GD, and so on.
Many have expressed their opinion, but what I would like to do here is to collect structured answers with respect to a few points:
How many casters? Of what type? A classic setup is to have two casters: one caster bringing excitement and one bringing knowledge. People being able to do both are rare, but even with them having two casters makes their job easier. What do you think is the way to go? What should people do for weekly cups?
Some people seems quite annoyed by broken English, bad accents, or repetitive way of saying. How much is this important to you? (And to make it fair, how well do you rate your English?)
This might be harder to pin down, as there is a great variation in the excitement and technical quality of matches, however this point is about what do you want to hear. How much analysis do you expect and to what depth (considering a general audience/growth) and how much caster should go for a more descriptive cast pointing to excitement (Caster: “And what an air-rocket!”, Angry nerd: “Stop describing what’s on the screen” ).
From the ESL casts to Strenx rants, passing through nerdy /b/-like humor. What do you prefer? When do you think a particular style is suitable?
