It won't ever be like that. The only reason the crowds get so big at events like ESL is because its at CeBit and half of the people in the crowd are other gamers who are bored with nothing else to do.

Ugh, if you haven't realized it already, the community that is ESR has been the single most destructive thing to the future of quake - completely un-moderated and caters to absolute trolls.

ShackES will be dedicated to coverage of the competitive gaming scene. This will start with Quake3 and expand to Counter-Strike shortly after. Then on to other games such at UT etc from there.

yes, let's get rid of the only English-language page that has some personality and cares about Quake. Let's substitute it with the Web 2.0 equivalent of a bimbo.

Don't get all the hate towards djWheat when he actually says truth about this site. It's a sinking ship and has been like that for years, it's getting worse and worse every year content-wise.

Yes it has unique personality and everybody loves it, but IT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT QUAKE. All I see is whine at every possible corner, all I read is how shit the game is, how there's nothing going on, how id has failed etc.

What this community has done for the game itself or the general community? Nothing. 5 people are contributing some stuff/writing news but that's it.

And bashing teamliquid in rage, haha, how low you can get? :))) TL is huge in terms of everything and it's only because of the community's passion. You're just envious or too stupid to see who's going down and who's developing further.

your perception is wrong if u can see only whine here. just look at the threads about the the lvl dh coverage for example or this online hud creator,and so many more... good stuff... and the comments are almost all positive. credit where credit is due...

now thats true actually, the amount of ppl who step up and do something is really low :( still there is a lot of good stuff going on. tournaments being organized, pickup channels being created, firefox addons being coded...

its not like ppl are saying omgomgomg tl suckz! but a lot of people dont like the ridiculous moderation that is going on there

The number of whine in comparison with positive stuff is like 10:1. People tend to not bitch only when they're FULLY satisfied, they don't appreciate minor things, they won't give anything of themselves to make this place better.

i think the mods are a little bit trigger happy in here. i hate to see inconsistency in their work, and i can assure you i've seen far worse and far less useful information being posted as a thread or a response without consequence. i feel like some mod is going to read this, scan through my post history and ban/warn me for some stupid shit as retaliation.
