in TDM basically the first 18 minutes dont matter, the final two minutes decide everything.lol?
Not really. Top-level duels can be decided by a 1-0 score or an early set of frags. Top level TDM matches are always close and the first hundred plus frags become irrelevant, since the victory is still up for contest past the 15 minute mark. Often, the score is close enough so that the final few powerups after the 18 minute mark pretty much decide everything.okyay i have to admit that my duel analogy wasnt really thought out cause you can run for a bigger amount of time. on the other hand the last 2min of a duel can be way more important, cause if you are 30% ahead in frags that usual means that you still have a fair chance of turning it around. now if you are 30% frags behind in a tdm match because you messed up early powerups or failed to adjust your tactics or whatever, then you are fucked, the last 2mins mean nothing then.
In pretty much any div 1 TDM match, the first 10 minutes are irrelevant. That's just the way it is.
I'm watching a bit of TDMo and I'm trying to get into it, I just think that if a team game is needed, CTF is the more proven format. Besides what I just mentioned, TDM in QL also has the problem of being too FFA-ish, and with mg cess and shotgun being overpowered (perhaps even after the recent nerfs).proven format? speak for the na community but dont make it sound like that is actualy true for quake (live) in general. and the weapon changes have influenced the mode quite a bit, the cess factor is still there (and will always be there) but it seems to be at really reasonable level (if you are not sued to qw tdm ;))
