overall it's actually a nice direction where ql goes to. there are slightly more and more cups poping out and making the scene much more interesting. i really appreciate that. and i'm sure the prize-pools will get bigger if there is a nice response from the community, shown in well visited streams and stuff like that.

I would say it's going to start about 15-30 minutes after the scheduled start time. After check-in's, figuring out servers and map choices, the action usually starts..

Just a note from admin side, Zero4 was pinging about 55 and tyryl about 70. A difference of 15, we felt no need to split servers.

It was not going to be anything better than that since one lives in the west side and another in east side.

actually, I had 75 ping and zero4 had 50, and for some reason you are lying to boot, because you clearly said several times that we should split servers yourself, as did incubus. it was only steve who said otherwise and "overruled" your own decision.

hey flame, I know you from way back and I am aware you are not a bad guy like these guys make you out to be, but in tyryl's defense (who the heck is that anyway? new guy? :D) there is a huge difference between 70 and 55 (even worse if it was like 75 vs 50). considerably worse then if it were 30 vs 45.

The reason for this is the unlagged netcode that bites the dust at around 70 ping, things are alot more harsh with 70+. if you ever get the chance try it out. you'll see how much easier it is to play with even 65 ping compared to 75, a mere 10 ping difference.

quake live tv: please continue to provide more analysis however you can. getting dahang or rapha on is genius - it ups your casters game and keeps them from slipping into snarky quips and general lack of focus. i think all casters playing in at least a tourney or two so that there is earned insight provided rather than spelling out what is happening before our eyes would be fantastic. maybe a caster show tourney? that could be pretty rad...

and before the whole 'we should appreciate' equivalent of put-up-or-shut-up angle is thrown out - the minute you put your voice over gameplay you are subject to criticism. i think every casting crew should consider what would happen if gtv was available for the next event. why would people want to tune in to your cast? that should always be on your mind, never that we should offer voiceless thanks or worse yet, just don't connect if we don't like it.

and no, i am not a better caster than anyone on your crew. not by a long shot. i would probably just say 'jeepers' at the worst times and hold down tab.

Hey simple_quaker. Thanks for the feedback. As the lead shoutcaster at QLTV, I very much agree with you.

While Jehar and I fanatically love the game and will continue to broadcast it as much as possible, we've always been aware of and open with the fact that we don't have the pro player background. Since our launch, I've hoped we'd bring a few top players onto the staff to offer analysis but I think with the sparse QL community in North America, most players that would enrich our broadcasts are usually playing in the tournaments we cover. (If I'm wrong about that and someone is available, please contact me.)

Having rapha stop by for a finals broadcast is always a pleasure and a huge win for the viewers. Lately, we've also been trying to pull in players as co-hosts for our CTF coverage, but it's difficult to find consistency.

At the end of the day, it tends to be me, Jehar, Fishstix, our new man, sLowbi, and a few others behind the scenes who are consistently putting in the time to make sure the coverage comes together. We'll keep hunting for top notch players who are willing to share their thoughts on the mic, though.

It's a shame about czm, for those who are oldschool you could still see the old czm there in some moments of inspiration, to simply follow with some really noob mistakes :<
I think life moved on for him and he's just playing for fun and will go to IEM to relive the LAN moments and stuff.
Still fun to see someone with the oldschool dodging and kind of aim but the lack of practice makes him easy and it's kinda sad to see such a great player doing like this, he will be rammed at IEM.

His style is still too OSPish and he's really rusty in duel mentality.

That's what I think too. He's still playing Quake Live like Q3, the way he +forwards so aggressively and tries to rocket the heck out of people, the way he uses his LG in situations where rail is probably more appropriate.

If he tried he could probably pull off a cooller-like transition to QL but the difference is that cooller tried, czm hasn't.

So as far as IEM goes it doesn't appear he's going to do much. Definitely not beat spartie as was predicted by that web site.

He has no chance at all to beat spart1e, maybe dandaking.

I think he could progress even faster than cooller when cooller cameback because czm has a really stable aim style.
What he's lacking the most is that, the qlive positioning weapon choice and duel routines.
He was really lost sometimes when playing z4 in the grand final.
And unfortunatly for him he has a really hard group because he's playing the best control duelers like cooller and cypher, not good for him.
Just hope czm doesn't take 30 0 scores that would be bad :(

He is a mathematical genius with very bright future and Quake these days has a laughable amount of money to take it seriously.
