Rockets haven't been nerfed. In fact giving bigger hitboxes has mainly buffed the splash damage, which in my opinion was the problem with the overpowered rockets in the first place.

Splash damage/knockback is calculated from how far the rocket is from the center of the model, the actual size of the hitboxes have nothing to do with it

Can you please explain to me how will RL be less powerful if youre gonna deal the same amount of damage, with same accuracy and same splash in close range!?!?!?!?!?Its not like youre gonna be aiming at a few pixel model, but youre most likely going to hit foot or direct hits, therefore increasing/decreasing rocket speed at such close range is irrelevant.You see, shooting at close range is irrelevant beacause the hit impact is almost immediate, however things WILL DRASTICALLY change in mid/long range as you wont be able to shower opponents with rockets from ridiculous range(exploiting it).At such long distance the speed of rockets counts a lot as it will take so much less time for them to hit desired target.

LG is not overpowered, and rockets could use a slight nerf. Also, noobs want everything easy, but in a competitive game the harder it is the better for the competition of the game and the competitive players. Furthermore, you lost any and all validity as soon as you said the only two good maps are ctf7 and ctf2, which is sheer idiocy. CTF2 is shit.

The LG in Q4 1.2 was much worse and people are fucking dumb if they get caught in 50% shaft so often in QL right now that they're crying about it. On the other hand, rockets are way too fast and splash way too wide, and badly need to be toned down to Q3 style regardless of how the other weapons are changed up.

if rocketeer has some nice skill lg has no chance on close distance once he bashes him with 1 rox its over. if he doesnt lg player wins, like he did before update :)

yes if its in a corridor or narrow space, otherwise even in close range you can lock the rl player an do some serious dmg :p

if space is open enough that lg player can dodge you decently then

q4 had good weapon balance. they should orientate towards this.

oh well, there is no crouch slide, but im sure there exists a good compromise in rl balance.

without beeing too fancy, a good ql balance would be

old hitboxes
90 dmg rail
weaker rockets
balance shaft in line with these. maybe 6/6/6 , dunno.

sometimes i have dreams that id made q4live based on q4max mod instead of taking q3 and changing gameplay for a milion times, cause in my eyes q4max was a complete package for really fun and competetive duel gameplay, changing some issues on engine side, would make it best quake edition ever made if you dont mention qw, dunno as for team modes, calling it as dueler

balance is decent now, RL / LG / RG are all quite balanced, mm RG feels a bit too good atm.

i can hardly remember the OSP netcode from back then (my only real comparison to ql today) but if my memory serves me right, even tho it did 100dmg, it was harder to hit,... dunno how to balance RG, but i wouldnt nerf or buff the dmg :P

I like the balance now, but just theoretically there are a few possibilities for rail: dmg only to hp not armor (50 or w/e) or cq3 dmg scaling

damage scaling only makes things messy, wether you're on the giving or receiving end of the rail.
