yep, different hats for premium users that you can pay for. and they would add rail dmg or lg dmg etc depending on the hat you bought, also they could add different items like speed boots, permanent armor etc

Yeah we need a Quake Live item mall so you can sell your rare items for real money! While they're busy turning the game into TF2, they might also want to take a page out of Valve's book and make the engine perform worse every time they update to the point where it runs worse on your brand new computer than it did on the computer you had when you first started playing. Can't wait.

Would be kind of fun for a weekend dev pick..not that I play any more.

ql actually has potential for this, different weapon/projectile skins, some more hit/kill beeps, new gestures, ...
it would help id, and thus everyone playing the game, while only people pay who have too much money, who want to support ql or who are dumb

While I was joking when I made this I do kind of agree.

The only problem is that you can turn off so much shit in QL that unless they force stuff on (and annoy the shit out of some people) then most people who play the game (or play it even semi seriously) won't see any of it.

I love how everyone makes fun of the idea when it could potentially bring a lot of new players to the scene. Not only that, it would also make people more likely to play on their main accounts if they do it right (achievement-unlocked hats that cannot be traded, etc.), limiting tier slumming, which would ALSO make new players more likely to keep playing.

*I used the word hat in my post but it would be anything skin-related, or new taunts, whatever.

Failing a new thread... is anyone else getting MASSIVE lags when playing QL? It's like anytime anyone new appears on the screen the game freaks out & pauses for half a second, it completely spazzes out if you're anywhere near a tele.

I think it's to do with ISP more than QL though

I don't get the same issues playing ET / CPM / RTCW - all the same tech. This makes me rage so bad.

This is playing on UK servers using a UK ISP.

It's also the way it happens at the exact moment you're doing anything worthwhile, or shit I have the quad *FREEZE*, oh darn look I'm about to cap *FREEZE* *DENIED*, oh snap this would be a good time to rj... I don't even know why I play this ridiculous game, cpm is so much more fun just wish there was people playing it beyond dm6 CA & 11 people in cpmpickup :l
