Since you've now essentially admitted that you don't know anything about quantum physics or string theory, allow me to clue you in a little. The biggest issue with string theory right now is that scientists are afraid that it's nothing more than elegant math - that it all works out on paper, but doesn't actually exist. Even if it turns out to be the path to the actual unifying physics, it still has a lot of work left. Regardless, the crackpots you're investing in are no more qualified to speak on string theory than you are. No theory has allowed for PROOF of extra dimensions, as they will only allow for a framework for testing to begin with.

CERN is working on potentially revealing if other dimensions exist, but it has not done so yet. Even if they prove that they exist, they'll be doing so with the very same physics that don't in any way describe dimensions as you imagine them. Yesterday I watched with a friend the Insidious a thriller where father and son where astral projecting. Then I searched the internet about it and I had such experiences in the past. I couldn’t figure out though, if I was astral projecting or lucid dreaming. Searched for hours (ended at 6:30 in the morning) without getting an answer. It seems to me that is probably the same thing, but manipulated in different ways.

I am no expert ... but deep "chi" breathing and lower chakra work while resting in bed ... (to relax and clear) followed by a focal point on the heart seems to be more natural to me. "clearing and releasing" - however done , may be the key ... more than any one technique.

When i first seen the video i thought, it looks like a parlour trick and far from the new agey stuff i usually come across regarding astral projection(which i bet is the reason why many distance them selves from these things)

I mostly used the methods on this vid Astral Projection Methods. At that point didn’t know anything about it and any methods for doing it. I had an accidental such experience and it was too fucking cool to let it. Therefore, tried to find ways to recreate that experience and pretty much did the things, which that vid describes. It was more like a supper realistic lucid dream, with max resolution and no way to distinguish it from reality. I was getting up from the bed or sofa and couldn’t tell if it was for real or not. I remember that this thing troubled me and I was keep telling myself that if ur r not sure, it means that ur body is still in the bed and this reality is in ur brain. I am not convinced that you are actually leaving ur body. I will probably try it again sometime soon, following astral projection methods (not like the ones in the vid) to see if anything different happens.

Hehe, will check your video out, i think i have tried out a similar technique to yours before. where you completely relax, on the bed mentally switch off everysingle part of your body (imagining an on and off switch) then seeing your self growing / stretching out of your head by an inch, then from your feet by an inch, then by 2inches etc. Gradually by doing so You just sort of pop-out of your body.

Its not escaping reality, We "astral project" everytime we fall a sleep..its called lucid dreaming, the technique of realizing you dreaming while in dream and taking control of the dream (im sure youve heard of this, the red ball ) The trick is to remember what you are dreaming (having a notepad by your bed and writing everything down, we forget so quickly)

I agree with most u say, but I am no sure u had experienced a really vivid lucid dream. It is something that u can’t just pass. It wows you like nothing else. I myself have realized in dreams that I was dreaming and what supposedly follows is a lucid dream, where u do whatever u want. Yea it was a bit of fun, but nothing special really. But when I worked myself into it (by laying on a bed and trying to stand up while still laying), was nothing like that. You feel like it is real and you don’t know if u actually succeeded into doing it (left ur body in the bed), or u just stood up for real (physically). The vision is exactly like when u r awake, it is perfect and nothing like a dream. Everything feels real, apart form the ability to do things that u normally can’t.

Trust me, I have. On more than one occasion. Without any training or any methods. Except this one time where I read up on what I just experienced and tried some of it out, but nothing worked.

I have been practicing lucid dreaming for years. Tho for whatever reason all the techniques i tried for OBE/astral projection didnt work for me ( must have been 5+ techniques i went through). I have been meditating for years, but can't calm down my thoughts enough(clearing your head of chatter) and the posture isn't as relaxing as it is to some, both resulting in having dull meditations(non visual). Thats why when i successfully astral projected i felt the need to share the video everyone i could. Knowing i would face mostly trolls here, took me the longest to find to courage to post it here:)

Lucid dreaming isnt really a beginning , you may find it easier to astral project i think. The trick with lucid dreaming is too realize you are dreaming while in a dream. This can be done in several ways. I used to have a small peace of paper with "Am i dreaming?" written on, that i would look at at least 10+ time through out the day, imprinting it into my subconscious, then while in a dream a would pull out that same peace of paper and realize i am dreaming. The tricky part is too remember your dreams. Have a note pad beside your bed and repeat "i remember my dreams" for a minute or so before falling a sleep, this is what did the trick for me.
This is my experience. Perhaps someone else can share theirs :)

lucid dreaming by far isn't as straight-forward as some posts here make it out to be.

in theory you can do anything your mind is able to "create", in practice you will have a lot of trouble even entering into a "lucid state" and then not waking up every few seconds.

looking into a candle is... looking into a candle. i have no idea what you "can't do" with a method as great as this.

that looking into candle stuff is err, dunno, my interest has awaken after i heard lucid dreaming.
