Afaik UK, Italy, Spain and Portugal ping better in France than in Germany. UK and Italy hold a lot of players. Besides, as long as your ping isn't higher than about 70 it's all playable.

I don't think people understand the concept of rotating locations for each tournament, based on some replies in this thread.

It's a FFA tournament, just because there are prizes involved, it shouldn't be considered as highly competitive. Ping complaints are completely beside the point, the goal is to have as much players as possible to enjoy and have some fun. Besides, just because you ping bad on X doesn't mean you shouldn't partake in the tourney, maybe the next one will be closer to you.

Props to the -FFA- team. Might get back home by sunday and play some.

Is your ping to france really that bad? Or is it packet losses? As for myself, I played 1st ffa tournament with 95 ping, while im used to 40/60 (ru/nl), still it was quite fun, although hells gate with plasma spawn = shiat.

ps. next time should be .nl servers :)

For tournament #3 we will announce the possible server locations (probably all European options) and the one with the most votes (points) will become the server to pay on.

If the amount of Frags are equal as well, the one with the most Damage Delivered wins the better position.
If the amount of Damage Delivered is equal as well, the one with the best netto (Frags - Deaths) wins the better position.

Wouldn't it be better to have the one with better k/d to win before damage is compared?

Also, it's a bit imprecise to say the finals are best of 4 if you use a Grand Prix system.

In FFA, damage is more important than netto. It lies closer to the 'first rule' of FFA: 'the first one to reach X frags win the game'.

To rank people with equal amount of frags basically means that you have to make a continious ranking between discrete frags. What is the most obvious way to define what is "2.5" frags? It intuitively means, that you are halfway to making your next frag. And what you do to get next frag? The only thing that can give you a frag is dealing damage. So player with most damage is closer to having better amount of frags, which is what determines ranking in FFA.

So what if one player did n kills doing D damage, while the other had n kills with E damage (E>D). Then, as they "accumulate" damage for the next frag, the first player did more damage than the second, yet less than the difference E-D. He "accumulated" more damage for the next frag, yet judging their damage output at that moment the second player wins.

So what? Damage dealt is the closest available value that we have to a good intermediate ranking, doesn't mean it works good all times.
Netto on the other hand, isn't related to anything meaningful in FFA. You can receive as much damage as you want, it doesn't affect your ranking.

I've got to say, watching this FFA tourney on VODs has been a lot more fun to watch than any TDM or Duel I've seen (and I've seen many).

FFA really lends itself a lot better to spectating.

Purely as a spectator sport, FFA @ big LANs would be more fun for the (non-Quaker)viewers.

No, it is not like that. It has many other duellers than just the ones you listed. Some play both duel and tdm. Probably the best way is to check their ql accounts.

In any case the Ultrafrag Xtreme is a dueller's team (rapha, DaHanG, czm, cl0ck). I am not 100% sure for clock, but he was a known dueller at some point, but maybe he was a tdmer too (if I knew his ql account, I could check to see what his favourity mode is). Czm also is known for tdm too, but his primary mode always was duel (4 out 4?).

For Reason Gaming noctis is more of a dueller than tdmer (2/4).

Moskow you could say that is all duellers ... I just read what u wrote "cooller maybe" ... wasted my time ...

Mikes is almost 100% TDM-er, cooller/jibo/evil always played TDM alongside duels. Jibo is known in Russia as best TDM strategist, cooller's first world championship was in 2v2 TDM, evil and jibo played together in c58 and won many tourneys, etc.
They are duelers, but they are also all TDM'ers with huge experience and many 1st places on LAN tournaments.

I know and that is why I said "Moskow you could say that is all duellers". I wouldn't put my life on it, but could argue it.

The only certain thing is that there are more duellers in those teams than fazz, av3k and stermy.

As it is right now the only ones to suit that discription are dignitas and ufx maybe?
How can you consider the russian team duellers when they are like.. all wcg tdm champs? (apart from jibo I think who played loads of tdm on a high level anyway)

U understood mostly correct. Yes, fnatic was good example.

The Russian team part was part of my answer to t1e that there are only 3 duellers in all tdm teams. It had nothing to do with what I want.

There is really nothing to be confused of.
