If there is still Z axis issue it will be big fail for Razer.

I have 2 razer mouses, there isn't any z-axis issue, tho I guess it depends on the mouse pad you got.

I have 2 now(lachesis(3G) and imperator(3.5G), I played with mamba(3.5G) too and I tried deathadder(3.5G). I guess I have good observations on 3/3.5G sensors+3 mouses from logitech(including g9x)+2 from microsoft and one from a4 tech. All of them on 4 mouse surfaces. Next time don't start flaming when someone tells his opinion, and as I wrote - I know that razer mouses don't like any surface and have problems with many.

the imperator and mamba feature a laser sensor, while the deathadder features an optical one. thus using the abbreviation 3.5g should be considered as incorrect.

same case with the old lachesis and the old deathadder, both featured a '3g' sensor.. the lachesis used a philips twineye faulty-4000dpi-shit-one, while the deathadder used an avago adns-3668 1800dpi sensor, which was and still is considered as one of the best.

You're a dumbass, my Abyssus jitters a lot and sometimes stops tracking at specific angles when I move the mouse slowly. Also I emailed Razer about this issue and they told me they weren't aware of any tracking problems with their mice, rofl.

The dumbass is you mr. anonymous. razer 3.5G sensor isn't jittering on razer megasoma and razer destructor. Oh, and abyssus have fucked up firmware versions, I guess you have one of them and you CAN'T flash it, so GG.

Looks interesting, the sensor defo needs testing by someone on here.

i still remember my mouseman dual optical. that's the worst mouse shape in history... looked like an egg of a very ugly animal.

Yeah it was unfortunate, especially when the mouseman wheel had one of the best shapes ever.

I still have it, tested it out for fun and I couldn't make swift 180° turns ;O

That was one of if not the worst mouse I have ever used. Just absolutely horrid.

The sensor position was all screwy, felt like it was on the right side of the mouse. Very uncomfortable shape.

I bet that thing feels like shit if you only use one or the other sensor at a time, given how off-center they are.

razer is falling for this bs dpi race, i still remember when intel gone for the MHz race,the failed netbrust arquitecture... i predict issues when doing small rotation movements to adjust your aim.

Well there was only one big problem with TwinEye sensor they were using which was Z axis issue.
Rest were fine I think. No prediction and good max control speed or whatever.

If this sensor solved all the problems which their twin eye sesnor has. Then its no problem to buy this mouse for many of them who wants to replace their Ime Wmo.
But as we know how razer has failed to using same sensor in all their mice (starcraft/ naga etc) this might be biggest fail by Razer too.

In the end I stopped buying Razer mice.

Z-axis? Problems with tracking when the sensor height was changing minutely? I can easily comprehend X or Y-axis problems, but Z?

the sensor measures the distance to underground too(z-axis), but adds the results to the x- and y-axis of the cursor.

iirc, with the sensor having some diagonal angle it would pick up the minor depression on clothpads when you click a button, and then the cursor would go wack and jitter around.
At least that's the only answer I could come up with when a friend's lachesis decided his crosshair would parkinson around on my qck.

Their first fix for that was a little program that stopped mouse movement when you clicked. :D

The very max dpi you'll ever need is 1800. Even then you'll probably only ever need to use 400-800

I agree, its bound to weigh too much with two sensors.

Unless they made some super engineering to keep it light weight.

RTS@1080p with high sens will most likely need more than 1800dpi

I don't know much about SC2 players, but I think it's probably bollocks that you'd need a 5000 dpi mouse in order to stand a chance at high resolution. I see plenty of SC2 pros using 400-800 dpi mice still so it can't be that much of a disadvantage.

Reading the Zowie Micro press release it says:
StarTales gamers are used to playing with 400 and 800 DPI rates, so this was a key point for the development of the ZOWIE MiCO. Where HeatoN put more importance on the lift-off distance rather than the DPI-rates, StarTale felt that having the exact DPI that they are used to is more important to them as RTS-gamers than the lift-off distance.

Here is a scenario where someone would need more than 1800dpi:

Suppose that one plays RTS with 1200dpi@1024x768. What's the dpi that this same person would need if he wants to play @1080p with his original sensitivity? Do the math and you'll find out that it's 2250dpi.

And 1200dpi@1024x768 is not even the highest of sensitivities.
