i'm interested to know where you got that list from. Your'e in focus right. Do they have some kind of running list there in that focus subforum? I know poros1ty has the highest lg % in ql (had@48%), but he also has the skills of a top player like visje aka bliksems aka thetoptriad.

That being said, i believe your list is legit for the most part due to the fact that you have spicybabe on there. Let it be known that spicybabe and velcor play from the same ip (boyfriend/girlfriend).

btw:i don't believe por0s1ty or thetoptriad,visje/bliksems) cheat,i really don't. I've played with and against them many times and spec'd them on a number of occasions. It's possible that por0s1ty once cheated (48% lg kind of makes that possible) and that he now quit doing that (since he dropped down to 46%) but enough demos have been sent in about him that he would have been banned by now if he was cheating.

That being said, i haven't seen poros1ty active on his account in ages and i know id no longer marks people profiles when they get banned (eg, why my account isn't marked either even though i'm permanently banned on that account).

Ray your a little confused as to who thetoptriad is he's American and he's cheated for 10 years give or take from quake 3 ra3 - quakelive (he's not visje). He's known to most by mirc0n. There's a huge thread on esr about it and outing him a swell as his other 3 known aliases. Also INCubus/TheRapeTrain/Artanis is not Celestial/cOuNtnUtsaCuLa so you are wrong there as well. Poros1ty aka sekira(nick he went by in q3) was caught a few times in CTFs there's even a few demos on youtube of him. From what I've seen he still bots. Also to answer your question NO there isn't any "list" of hackers. This is my list from playing since the 2nd week of beta. There's about 200 names on the list I have but a lot of the accounts were deleted or abandon their account.

kdawg your right about great/dt/arterie he's mainly a iCTF player but has been caught many times in the past in q3. After losing in the ESL iCTF cup he raged quit and as far as anyone knows he's stopped playing.

i saw ted_ play with lollercopter many times. As you know the 2 of them did nothing but rape noobs together for about 1500 games in the summer of 2009. hence why both of them have very similar win/loss records.

Since we're on this subject, i wonder why id won't just do what blizzard did and make people register their main account (on battle.net) with all their details (name, adress, phone #, email, etc) which helped stopped alias accounts in wow.

Well I've seen Artanis_ on the same server as Celestial calling him a hacker in CA. INCubus like to "teir slam" and see how high he can get his stats (w/e nothing wrong with that) he's one of the few from eQ that didn't bot. Celestial is an ex uft player we know that for sure and he's French.

Yes that's him he has a lot of aliases even beyond the ones I've listed. He also runs www.tds-designs.net. He isn't Celestial/cOuNtnUtsaCuLa. As Celestial is Canadian and speaks french fluently and INCubus is American. The both ping differently and even without knowing all that just from watching them their playing styles are very very different. INCubus can strafe ... Celestial can't.

a lot of people mistook incubus with lollercopter and vice versa back in the days, due to similar stats, similar gameplay, similar tierslumming, its' obvious they were a duo so it's quite possible ice is lollercopter himself, which would make sense since lollercopter did very little gaming over the past year and ice was busy with quad gaming

He's good now at knowing when to toggle and when not too. He also tends to play like shit if he knows ppl are specing him. His cOuNtnUtsaCuLa account was banned at one point after he raped rey_ in duel with a 80% rail and 50lg not sure if the ban is still active. Celestial Hacking BTW I didn't record this demo.

I didn't really see anything in that demo other than superb hitscan aim, and possible wallhack but nothing clear cut. Certainly better aim than any time I've ever spec'd him, but nothing seemed super fishy. Though a few times his lg looked odd, tracking through walls but who doesn't do that in an lg fight? The pg did look odd though, I agree but I wouldn't say that vid is evidence of hacking

I came to the same conclusion that it was not a conclusive hack demo.

The fishiest part for me was 2:46 when his pitch jumps into almost exactly the correctly position from behind the pillar to lead precisely where the player spawned at top and was walking and you can see the tracking is very smooth and accurate.

Even this though isn't necessarily caused by a hack.

I could easily make the same claim about any q3 player being "caught" before.

When he says "caught" he really means "I say he is cheating, so he must be cheating." One could easily react to that and say "I say he is not cheating, so he can't be cheating." It is when weak comments like this are considered to be evidence that someone was caught cheating, that there is cause for concern. Calling someone a cheater is pretty cruel, as there isn't much you can do to prove otherwise once you've been labeled a cheater and its hard to wash off. This can easily destroy one's reputation and is wrong in my humble opinion. This is why labeling someone a cheater should only happen if you are absolutely sure of it. Be careful when accusing people, as it can hurt a player who is actually innocent.

I played CTFS competitively for years and not once was there ever any conclusive evidence that showed me cheating. I can back this up with the fact that I was never banned from any sort of league or match play. It was a common occurrence for people deemed cheaters to be banned from playing in matches and I was never one of them. If I had been caught a few times like you say, then surely I would have been banned from matches so you should rethink that. If you are simply just repeating what you've heard, than that is okay because it is a common inaccuracy about me.

No they were caught (by pb bans they are on server banlists for botting. I've already posted the nem/son!k ones that we know of. If you want samers look up [eM]samer and l3af_ on the gotflag iCTF banlogs which you can get from Decebaal.

You Poros1ty were banned once for using a wallhack/aimbot in CTFs (by admins not by pb) much like cl0ck was in ctfx one season. The ban was under sekira your old alias and there's this video
HERE there used to be a lot more but they are now lost with time I guess.

You are dead wrong. I was never banned for using an aimbot, wallhack, or anything in CTFS, ever. I was also never pb kicked and there are no pb bans listed under my GUID, ever. lol, no "admins" ever banned me for cheating either. Like I already said, I was never disallowed from playing from any sort of competitive leagues, which proves you're full of shit. You have no proof and no proof exists that I was ever banned from anything. Again I was never officially banned from any league. People did once try to get me banned from STA, but the requested ban was declined due to lack of evidence.

These other videos of me were weak wallhack accusations similar to the youtube video, which were also hardly suspicious and nowhere close to anything that could be deemed as conclusive evidence of any wrongdoing on my part. Since I was never banned from any league or match play and no proof exists to suggest otherwise, there is absolutely no truth of your claim that I was caught cheating back when I played q3. You should really stop spreading lies unless you have some proof that I cheated, which there is none.

Hey i'd rather watch platinum3x flagrun if i had the choice, but the point is, most people don't have that kind of patience or know how (know the diff in sounds), to be able to look through a 1mm cracked doorway/passage and to know when to shoot. Try shooting through such a small space sometime and having the reflexes/timing to be able to hit someone in that split second; it's not easy. So while its' not exciting to watch from a spectator's point of view, it's highly effective for them in camping situations especially (against guys like herc/fear, who are master defenders with rail and use the same methods to accomplish that)

porosity never seemed anywhere near good enough to have been cheating. I think iplayca was awful too. but a lot of those are definitely cheating.

arterie has about 9 million aliases as well, if anyone cares.. aliases like pubstomper, tierjumper, pubwrecker, downskilling, cleanupman, and so on in that vein, as well as shinakuma and gaffer. he once admitted to creating all of those accounts just to play low tier FFAs.

I remember playing vs ra1lc0re. He literally did nothing but use the railgun as if he were playing instagib. The only time he ever switched to LG were for brief moments at times where only an idiot wouldn't hit 100%.

His railgun aim was quite sick, though.

SisemeN/_NemesiS/son!k was caught a number of times in ra3 for using hacks. Said he was attending a lan in Montreal in March to prove to everyone he's legit. didn't go reason given was the lan was sold out (the manger said they only sold about half the tickets to the event)

kr4k3n_was banned

abby/abigail from q3 1.16 noghost video HERE has been caught also for using a
"color bot"

joint partner in crime with abby same story.

Fury was banned

v1c1ous few good demos on him for hacking was banned by id for 5 days then had it lifted saying friend was playing on his account.

samer_ notorious hacker from iCTF 1.16/1.32 been caught a number of times and had some of his friends guid banned from him using it with a bot. Also used to sell hacks for other games MOH2 and so on. Attended qcon last year but never played a single game. Recently played in the iCTF NA vs EU cup and railed close to 58 vs the euros in which he had a 150 ping.

ra1lc0re was banned

He4rTL3sS was put on the list as a joke (I have no idea who he is).

You are right in saying they are all pretty bad.

It's not "proof" just very suspect and very odd one would attend qcon that actively plays it just about everyday and not play a single game while you were there. Also you had a 85--90 ping and railed 40-45s in the games that were shown. All the games can be viewed HERE <--- just listening to the casters lol at the shots he hits. Taking in account his past you would have to be a fool not to think he's still bots.

In other news FYI, incubus must read your posts religiously because shortly after you posted the long list of problems with quakelive and cited me as being a hacker and said I was also spiceybabe, I saw Inc in a game and the first thing he said to me was GTFO hacker i know you are spiceybabe. LOL

Inc has always been one to care about what others think of him even if he says he doesn't. I listened to him whine for about 30 mins to forlorn one day about how he wasn't a stacker after lorn called him on it. :)

I played vs that �Detlewww__w___w� guy some nights ago and he was raging with an aimbot going 85 acc. Some hours later same night I met another aimbotter called "prince_of_quake".

I found it funny that I'd played vs. to obvious cheaters the same night so i checked their profiles. It seems like they are the same person. They both had Polish flag, same model (slash), and same accs (75+ avr. LG). Later he changed the flag for the prince_of_quake acc to Norwegian.

Now it seems that this guy got lots of aliases.

Besides the accounts named in this thread:

Why does it matter? I guess it was humanized, since the aimbot didn�t lock 100%, it traveled a few pixels behind the lock-point (or what you would call it), but never enough for the aiming to miss the hitbox, so in a practical matter it didn�t to any difference since it was still 100% obvious. As soon as he started the bot it would hit 100% until the enemy either died or went out of reach/behind an obstacle.

Nop. Just as soon as he pressed fire it would lock (or do this 95% lock) and keep going untill the enemy was out of reach. No matter how close the enemies were and how they dodged right next to him, or even jumping over him the aim would just stay on.

Clearly botted with some kind of aiming-delay, but as I said this delay was so low that it in fact didn't do any difference. Still 100% LG.

Cheats are rampant at the moment. When i was playing i found about 8 cheaters in 1 1/2 years time, but found numerous cheaters towards the end of 2010, that i stopped counting.

Without some form of anti-cheat protection (really what game doesn't have at least something in place...), the amount of botters will only rise and anyone who thinks otherwise has their ears taped shut.

For me these nonamed cheaters in tdm pickups and pcws with wallhack or with 45% lg acc and ping 70 are by far more annoying.

he doesn't care and only takes care of a cheater if he's forced to: like recently when yakumo stuck his foot in his mouth by proclaiming someone, not to be a cheater, and then ultimately 10 people came out of the woodwork and made him look like a fool. So then syncerror came to the rescue and claimed the cheater banned.

Overall, unless you make a stink about it on the ql forum, and in a way that doesn't call them out by name (so you dont' get banned for bringing it to the community's attention, eg: how id hides the fact that cheating is prolific now), otherwise nothing happens.

Sending a report to ordus does next to nothing because he probably gets 200 emails a day and you know damm well he doesn't have time to watch 200 demos a day. So, many emails get unread, deleted and people are forced to send new emails to him.

But cheating in quake live is getting out of hand, so much so that i think it will ultimately effect people's buying subscriptions, perhaps even more so than empty premium servers/tierslumming and stacking combined (based on the # of cheaters on ql right now).

In the old days, only one post every 3 days about a cheater presented itself. Now, it's a daily ocurrence.

I've sent a report to id about 2 cheaters last weekend and after 2 days i got a answer of ordus that they investigate the case. Their last game was at the same day i got the report, so i think they are banned now.
So you can't say that sending a report does affect nothing.

Right now there's a major public bot that was put out it is very similar to what ogc was. That mixed with the fact that QL is a free game they really don't care if they are caught as they'll just create a new account. The IP and HWID banning system ID uses is very easy to get around by anyone that uses google.

ah yes i've seen him play, sparingly. He's a tier 5 ctf player (or tier 3 based on current algorithms with tier 3 being the highest). Anyways, he doesn't play much on pubs so i really don't know if he's legit. I do know he has very good movement though and ofcourse his aim matches that.

hmm alright. I have to think back

Idontplaywell - tried to hide it at first but later in the game admitted it by saying he didn't care, and that we couldn't get him banned. sadly enough it took almost 2 years for him to get banned

velcor - tried to hide it by mocking people calling them noobs and using typical troll remarks to disffuse the issue (cry more, you just suck, get better, etc). We later came to find out he was cheating with his gf (spicybabe) from the same house (same ip). Both were later banned (his gf first).

digitalhunter - never talked during game and tried to hide it by playing dumb. He wan't banned for a long time, despite a very high volume of demos sent to ordus (who probably just deleted them, had to have, because digital's cheats were easy to tell, his crosshair jumped incessantly)

I only remember 1 or 2 who blatantly cheated and wanted to get caught, even spamming the url of the site where he got the cheat.But those kinds of cheaters are far and few between.

Every time i play duel i just believe im playing rapha himself or cypher and expect bullshit. This makes the game much less ragey, even if they do weird or suspicious things.

Playing ca? I just imagine its all stermy/k1llsen/linkje on the other team and play accordingly. Try to enter doors twice (quickly in and out), so that if they are waiting, they miss their rail or spam shot, etc.

Playing TDM? everyone is czm and toxjq, expect bullshit and give back some. If you aren't timing powerups and armors, don't expect to fucking win with aim alone, and be appalled that others destroy you so easily. It's so fucking simple.

These days people think someone that has perfect weapon selection is a hacker. What a fucking joke.

If you use the correct weapon when its warranted, then you will have high acc with all guns. Every easy rail is hit. All easy lg is hit. All rocket juggles are easy. The people that don't have perfect weapon selection always cry hack after u destroy them.

Watch cypher and learn or just cry hack as your excuses. so lol.

that's because new players to the game can't adjust to the fast pace of the game. It may be easy for you to adjust but the majority of players have a hard time. The attitude you portray in your argument against them, and your notion they should just man up and deal with it doesn' t change the fact that in some cases they spawn (get fragged 1 sec later - spawn, get fragged.2 sec later, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc). I think you've forgotten what it's like to ba noob as it's truly not fun trust me. People play games to... wait for it.. .. wait for it.... have fun. (in that respect when people spawn and die frequently, some algorithm should be in place to ensure they spawn further away in successive quickdeaths)

Playing a cheater is similarly.... wait for it.... not fun....if you ever played against digitalhunter you'd undertstand that; the dude just pressed down the fire button and camped mid. The moment he appeared into the picture, you'd get hit instantly. There was simply nothing you could do about it. He played bloodlust CTF a lot (a fairly open map with most spawn points near the center of the map) which allowed for that scenario.

The issue i see is in regards to what veterans feel is "fun" and what new players to the game feel is "fun" and they are on the opposite spectrum of things.

Bottom line, ql had to be dumbed down more to preseve more players. Most of those unhappy players have left now, and all that's left are guys like, mellowtab and mevil who continue to improve and work on their game instead of letting the "veterans" win in respect to their bullying. But that's rare; most raged and quit long ago already.

It's a no win argument, to blame noobs. It's just an unwillingness on your part to comprehend the other side of the spectrum.But in fairness, when punkbuster was removed (and not replaced) this game died a slow death almost instantly.

No matter what you fix in a spawn system, it only causes an equal or greater new problem. The entire system is archaic, and simply unsuitable for any sort of professional-level game.

that's exactly what it should do in that respect. It was in regards to CTF/FFA (for when games are obviuosly mismatched/being dominated by one team/player). In TDM that's the point of the game (to camp spawn points (weapon/item control points as well).

The spawn system brings about variables that hurt well earned play in duel, but in CTF it helps keep things exciting. In TDM it should be as predictable as possible, with the excitement (for shoutcasters and viewers alike) coming from watching players run from one area of the map to the next spawn location.

In regards to an alternative to the spawn system. Can't say i've ever thought of it. What do you suggest? Personally, in duel (because i fathom you maen duel when talking about how bad the spawn system is), i believe spawn points should be removed and rounds implemented after each kill. I have thought of a scenario where players would start with a basic mg and build up from there but always come to the same conclusion that you'd have to have items/weapons a certain distance apart from that initial first spawn location at start of round, or for them to be congregated in the middle of the map (maybe not a bad thing for some maps, but it takes away any movement this game has). So, perhaps starting off with some basics (rl and sg) at start of each round would help diffuse those issues. Just my quick 2 cents. Things could otherwise stay the same for all i care, i don't play duel anyways.

There was a long discussion about it over a year ago. The best alternative is the "Hoony mode" system. It's essentially a fight between spawn pairs, and somewhat comparable to CA.

Just like CA, the round is over when you die. However, you start with a fresh spawn just like normal, and items spawn just like normal. Each round, you get new spawns.

I've made some suggestions, such as an even number round system that forces each pair of spawn to always be used at some point in reverse. In order to prevent people just sitting around/spamming, I also suggest using Doom 2 rules with weaponstay, and maps that always keep top tier ammo on the opposite end of the map to the RA/MH. This way, you can't just camp and spam while in control, as you will run out of ammo. The person at a disadvantage might only have YA, but he can spam as much as he wants until the player in control is willing to give it up (or make a timing push) to replenish ammo.

The disadvantage of that would mainly be for shoutcasters (harder to call matches since they don't know where these things are either), and brings about a bit of luck to the equation (one player finds rail, another finds sg in one specific spawn location)

No, the spawns would be static, but the map developers would specifically have to make maps for this mode. Weaponstay makes it so that weapons do not despawn when picked up, but you are unable to pick them up a second time to get more ammo.

You can have the controlling part of the map have top tier weapons (RL/LG/RG), but only ammo for SG/PG/MG/GL. The person out of control may only have YA/GA, but they have at least one top tier weapon spawn (at least RL), and all the ammo spawns near them. Ergo, the person who isn't in control can simply kite+spam if need be, since he will always be able to replenish his ammo.

The person in control only has as much ammo as the initial pickup from the weapon, so if he keeps spamming to keep the person out of control away, he'll eventually run out of ammo, and have no way to defend his lead. The person out of control has incentive to push out because he will need the weapons that are near the controlling parts of the map - ammo is useless if you don't have a weapon.

This essentially forces both map-based and player-based combat, and punishes campy +back play. In addition to all the normal things that you have to keep track of in a duel, you now strictly have to keep track of enemy ammo pickups, and the exact number of shots fired.

Weaponstay doesn't work so well in a time-based mode, but since hoony mode is point-based (like Doom 2), it works out.

weapon rotation ain't a good idea because maps and locations of weapons are thought out well usually...

only 1 aspect: the place where the weapon lies can usually be attacked optimally with another weapon other than the spawning one (think LG on OSP5, DM6, ZTN,.... or RL on most of these maps). Rail has a unique space most of the time that's a bit harder to reach even and secondary weapons are are located a bit separated from high active zones.

I've played aimbots recently, when u know where they are, just spam grenades and they run into it b/c they believe they are superman with the bot and just rush. The only other tactic is to LG them when they have rail out, I can lg lock them faster than their rail can reload, if they are close enough. You can use rockets, but their rail will push you very far, so you cant jump - or if u get railed while u jump u will be pushed, and aiming rockets while being pushed is harder than keeping a lock from lg.

This is how i dealt with ttt when he played. He just tried to rail me 4 times, i lg'd him when he is going to hit the 4th rail on me. Which is why he always played my team or ran away from me during games. (fucking noob)

Also, if ur trying to beat a shaft bot... best thing to do is bait a teammate, follow the teammate in ca/tdm/ctf and rail him when hes owning ur teammate rofl.

Playing someone that is not hiding their bot is bullshit and takes a lot of team sacrifices to win, in duel you are fucked.

Playing people that are hiding their hacks? It's not an automatic loss, they just play like a top tier player, so u can win if you are smart enough.

id doesn't mark accounts with a "this account was banned for 1,2,3 reasons" anymore. They just ban people. You'll know if those accounts are banned if you see 0 activity over x number of days. Something tells me they'll be banned soon though, not that it will matter sadly

They are banned, Id recently implemented the ban notifications again as you can see.

Also Pika thought it was only a 3 day ban because I personally sent in demos of a player named drixy. This guy was a friend of pikas and told him that he only got a 3 day ban and that 3 day ban was for language in game. That particular match he was using an obvious wallhack and was also flaming everyone on the server. I assume that Id tried to scare him with the language ban rather than an all out ban, it was the first demo I sent in of him. What drixy didn't tell his friend is that I also sent in demos of 3 other of his accounts and they did get at least the minimum 90 day ban I have been told for first offenses, and further examination shows that Id has now implemented an Ip ban on this player effectively taking out all of his accounts permanently

drixy, kgmdrixy, kgm_drixy, kgmneptune, skate14z, feaz, and many others.

Hes a young kid and probably has no idea how to get around the ip ban so hopefully he should be gone for a while. I heard from one of his friends that he is quite pissed that he can't get on quakelive. :)

personally i think he's just slumming low tiers. I dont' recognize hardly any of the people in those ca games he's in. It's not a new account however, perhaps an older alt account that he forgot about. Also i don't see any ridiculous jump in acc from game to game (He is hitting between 39-45% lg on a regular basis)

I was banned for aimbot a couple weeks ago. I was told a demo was taken of me. I asked admin to post it on forums so people can see it and say if they think I cheat or not. Admins refused so I made another account. This account was recently banned for same reason. Now my IP is banned so I can't play at all. This is rediculous! I have never cheated and never will. There has to be some way to appeal this.

On the other side, the bad boy, the rebel. Part of him died when he was denied moderator powers, and a much darker side was born... Now he lives for one and only thing, revenge. If he can't enjoy his hobby, no one can. He goes from server to server, wrecking other players with his aimbot, while cursing Yakumo's name. Is there anyone out there that can Bust this Punk? (Seriously though, Punkbuster would be nice to stop this public bot.)
