like any map just challenge main powerups and have a good rail. Also if you don't get ra you always have ga's and 1 ya to fall back on.

Yeah just find some aerowalk vods :P there's plenty online of top players online and at various lan events.

To be fair, railwhoring in cpm isn't the same as QL, where its super slow and rails feel more devastating. Especially since rail in cpm isn't 100 like I thought, but 80 (or was when I was doin some cpm games anyway)

time mega to second, move with caution to avoid any additional rail / rocket dmg, pressure your opponent as much as your aim allows you, initiate fights but leave them after making dmg in order to make opponent needy, control lower RL / TELE area and dont give up your position EVER.

other than that, when you're out of map control, spam grenades like crazy, especially the doorway beneath RA. As someone already said, +back rails and spam, lay back on YA + GA and hope for the best.

That map is a dark alley of quake. In pub games, only rape can occur there.

Out of control:
For starters you need to get weapons.
The only you can be really sure of getting is the grenade launcher. Use it! It's one of the most effective weapons on the map. Get 20 ammo and spam all tele entrances/doorways/mega when it's spawning in order to get yourself a rail and rockets.

There is no universal strategy on how to procede though.
There are some players who like to rush the yellow in which case there's a great chance to deal out a lot of damage with nade/rocket spam. Also their movement gets more predictable as they try to run all 3 items and you shouldnt have a hard time just keeping upper ground and spamming down rockets and rails.
Also whenever players try to steal the yellow from you its a great chance to move into position at RA. Even though you probably won't be able to get it without a stack, you can still spam lots of nades and you're almost guaranteed to make damage if your opponent comes up the stairs.
The trick is to not get too greedy: if your opponent rushes do your damage and escape. Very often even just delaying your opponent from getting the red will mean that you can get either the yellow or the mega.
The mega pickup is also a great place to ambush. In my experience especially nades are very effective there.

Of course if you have a good rail as others here have suggested you can simply take rail fights and win over control by stringing a few rails together. However it's also perfectly possible without.

Playing in control is mostly simple. Time the mega and cut your opponent off from the red. Basicly hold him at the grenade launcher as you will notice most players do.

Depending on your individual strenghts you can just stay at the teleporter and rail. Rail the yellow, rail the 5hp-bubbles, rail the railbridge. There are loads of angles, however especially against a dodging opponent not always that easy to hit. So if rail isnt your strongest weapon you can also try to rush the yellow with rockets (use the teles!).
But make sure to only rush yellow steight after picking up the red. Otherwise chances are after you made a frag you will lose control, because your opponent will respawn at red.

Also while watching vods pay precise attention to how players play at the red area fighting up/down the stairs. It's a very tricky place to fight in and asks for perfect movement and timing unless you want to get railed/eat rockets.

Not that I have any idea of duel. But this is how I play.

When not being in control get the grenade launcher (as you usually spawn there) - depending on the position of the enemy, you either go rocket, or rail.

If you go rail, make you spam the tele - if you do that, make sure the enemy is not at ra, or near the mid-jumpad where he can rail you when you go to rail. If you are down at the ya, listen closely to the position of the enemy. If he takes the tele, or tries to ambush you via high rocket, try to escape via the lower green armor and that way you will get a rocket and possibly a shaft in case you make it to the shaft. From there, you have better positioning and easily +back, rockets etc. rail w/e.

There is indeed no need to time the ra as mh is way more important. Position yourself down at the nades to do damage on the mh, or high above at the rocket depending on where the enemy is. As long as you hit one rail, everything is fine. Also: 2/3 seconds before mh you can spam nades and then possibly take the tele to get high ground and rail him.

Do not underestimate the green armor - take them whenever you can.

All he did was delay the inevitable, that level of play will only lower scores by running the clock and IMO it gives a psychological advantage to the other guy that you're scared.

He was a pest for cypher, but you knew he would always get squashed. Nice defense though, I bet with a lead that guy would probably force a lot of players to panic/make mistakes & rage!

Yeah agreed, it wasn't superior play or anything but it was fun to watch IMO because it was so unusual, and also cool to see how Cypher adapted to such a bizarre play style.
